She is beyond horrid and her intentions are obvious even if she believes otherwise. I'm not surprised. The only people who watch Samantha Bee are looking for some comedic self re-enforcement
Wacka Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 If i happen to be up after 11:30 PM, I watch Perry Mason on MeTV. 1
Gray Beard Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 I haven’t watched late night tv in a long time. After reading this thread, I’m glad that is the case.

Kelly the Dog Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Colbert and John Oliver are brilliant comedians. Trevor Noah is talented but not real funny. All of the other ones IMO suck. Myers is awful. Kimmel has moments every couple weeks. Fallon is a really talented guy just not funny or good interviewer. Bee sucks balls. Conan is still pretty funny at times.

It's just a self-indulgent catharsis for her and the writers raging out at the world like all the talking heads you see in cable news. I also find her skits similar to Sasha Cohen's - they may intend them to be funny but they come across as being mean-spirited. 1

She comes across as a paid DNC personality and a Hillary-bot when the election was still going on. She is not very bright and cannot understand that the US can't spend like Canada on social causes because we have to maintain the largest military in the free world. She can begin to lecture others when her home country of Canada starts spending serious dollars on fighter planes and aircraft carriers to name a few items along with maintaining Canadian social programs.
row_33 Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Is that what the non-David Byrne members are touring as these days?
Teddy KGB Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Nope. Some used to be edgy and funny, now they are political hacks telling the same unfunny Trump jokes over and over 1

PromoTheRobot Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 So is the issue that these TV hosts are wrong, or that they are right and doing a more effective job communicating what is happening than actual news people?

They're not communicating what's happening. They're just like mainstream cable news networks. They present themselves as unbias when what they really are = hacks. 2

If anything they expose the absurdity of the leadership we live under now.

The only joke is those whom laugh when they espouse on material and information they have no idea with which they understand. Kimmel does this regularly on political issues: saying insurance should cover pre existing conditions was one of the most wildly stupid proposals possible. It's akin to saying you have a burning house and want home owners insurance. It sounds good because you're trying to help people but when you take the reality of anyone on TV and put it to use it never works. From Mel Kiper to John Stamous... They're all bloviating.

Do the bloviators include Hannity and Alex Jones? By the way, did the Stadium Wall rules change recently to allow PPP threads in other forums? Edited August 3, 2018 by PromoTheRobot
