He was told that he didn’t meet the goals that he and his manager established at the beginning of the year. The deal is that you sign that you won’t make a fuss, and you get six month’s pay as severance. He talked to a lawyer, and the lawyer said a large corporation can wear you down and make you just keep paying lawyer fees, so you should just sign the form and take the severance pay.
