True story, I met Takeo a few years ago and naturally had to let him know I'm a yuge Bills fan and that he's an all-time favorite.

He said (something like) "I loved Buffalo!  I'll never forget going there as an upcoming FA Bengal and everyone in the crowd was cheering for me, telling me to come there.  I was like 'Hell yeah, Buffalo's for me!'".

Pretty cool.  And yeah, he's still big as hell!

Not sure what, if anything this source is worth, but interesting to note that he's saying that Mack is actually on the Block...

Unless I am missing something, his tweet is saying something completely different than his article. Talk about a misleading headline to generate clicks...

if you give any credibility to the sportsbook MyBookie, Mack is likely to be traded by the NFL’s mid-season trade deadline. The website opened up their odds at +350 that Mack would still be a Raider after the trade deadline, equal to the implied probability of just 22 percent, which stimulated trade talks about him on Twitter. Since then, we have been told that at least the New York Jets have reached out in an attempt to gauge the market for the pass-rusher.

With this information, we are left to fill in the blanks. Why would the Raiders want to trade one of the best defenders in the league, much less much less one who is 27 years old? Who are the legitimate contenders for Mack’s services? Do we believe that player props like these can accurately inform the public on future moves?

Then goes on to say -

Now we come to the final part of this conversation: Can we really make anything out of a line that an online book throws out? Many people believe that gambling works as some form of a free market, where books just want to make money on action and balance the line to whatever matches the money coming in. In truth, books are often fake free markets, as they set maximum bet limits. Often, especially on player props like this, the limits are very low. The purpose of throwing bets like this on the board is to generate PR that gets you to sign up for a low limit bet (around $25) for the purpose of gaining you as a long-term customer.

The truth is that prop bets, which people typically do not usually know are set to low limits, are not a product of a free market but are a way for books to get people to sign up for their website, with the long-term goal being signing up customers beyond that single bet. On paper, it is possible that a Mack could be a realistic goal for four teams if and only if Oakland is willing to take some 2020 draft picks in the process. Other teams could get into the market for Mack if they shift around their roster for the purpose of freeing up 2018 cap space. With all of that being said, making anything out of the exact order of odds listed by books is playing exactly into how they want you to act.

No chance, no chance at all this regime spends all that $$ and the assets needed to make this happen. It would be a terrible maneuver before we find out what this team is all about. If Allen was already a proven franchise QB, I would look at this differently. If Allen fails and they make this deal, do you realize the permanent hell this team would be stuck in?

How so? Let’s say as a crazy hypothetical the Raiders want Hughes and next year’s first round pick for Mack. The book on Allen won’t be closed next season, or the season after. The earliest we take a QB in the 1st rd again will be in 2020 - the absolute earliest. Allen is going to get more than one season to prove himself, as he should.

Now, it the raiders are looking for 2 first round picks then yes, that’s absurd. But 1 first round for Mack isn’t going to make or break this franchise. Mack is an all-pro.

Allen falling flat on his face will hurt this franchise. But if he does, we’ll have a pick in 2020 to draft his replacement.

Excellent points per usual, my good man! YE OLE is channeling that Mark Morrison vibe that we may indeed have a “Return of the Mack” situation going down here in Buffalo.

At some point you have to take your shot... and certain positions are worth a premium. If McBeane’s Mean Machine can land a franchise QB and a superstar pass rusher the AFC landscape will be significantly tilted in our favor. If it works out there won’t be another season for many years where the Bills won’t be a SB Contender. If it doesn’t work out... who cares? We’ll be in the same boat we’re in now. Like a Josh Allen 40 yard laser through the tightest of windows, McBeane should let it rip and go all in on this.

Like I said it's fun to think about!

We'll see, maybe Khalil wants to "return to run the show".

By the time we are ready to compete Edmunds/Mack would make for a devastating combo.

I would absolutely do next year's first (and a player - Hughes, whose pushing 30) and give Khalil 20 bucks a year.

Or we could just draft Bosa.

IMO its not all about what the raiders want its just as much about the size of the contract... Beane seems to have a financial plan in place.

but if they plan spending money in FA next year then maybe you move that money over to Mack.

We should hear something of a buzz within the next 24 hours if the Bills are inquiring IMO

I agree, but with the acquisitions this staff has already made in order to improve our pass rush, its obviously been part of their plan to improve that area. Murphy so far hasn't panned out as they wouldve hoped. Hughes is an UFA in 2020 & Lawson is still a work in progress on the bubble of even making this team kinda guy. Financial plan in place or not, you always make the call to find out what they want so you can factor that into your decision making. In the reverse if we found out that Beane never inquired about Mack when he was available we'd all be thinking wtf. Players of Macks ability don't come around too often & its arguably at a position of need. I'm 100% certain our front office has not only discussed whether or not it makes sense long term, but they've contacted Oakland as well. Doesn't mean they'll do anything about it, but you gotta at least discuss it.

It’s a no-brainer discussion for probably all teams in the NFL in my opinion. Defensive players of the year havent been traded too often in NFL history.
