The reason the Democrats continue to lose is not because they're too chicken to espouse their true ideology.

It's because their true ideology is hypocritical, disingenuous and otherwise laughable. It's because Americans aren't as stupid, lazy and dependent as liberals want them to be. It's because Americans need to feel their life has meaning beyond nutbags like Alexandria and Bernie telling them that the reason their lives suck is because of wealthy, rich, white men.

Perhaps if left would stop with the histrionics, stop with the blatant hypocrisy, stopping telling everyone they're a victim, and stop mocking successful individuals, and treat their fellow Americans with respect, they might get more than coastal elites, teachers and teenagers to believe their garbage.

Yes to everything above, plus one more point: TODAY'S DEMOCRATS ARE NOT LIBERAL. Once upon a time they might have been, but they no longer champion individual rights, property rights, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc, etc, etc. They are socialists.

Socialists are not liberals.

Disagree? Go to the %$#$ing library and read a goddam %$#$ing book.

While I agree with your sentiment you probably shouldn't post from your Gran Torino. Similarly, local libraries and newspapers will soon be seen only in history books. As you take your dodo bird for its morning walk you might want to ponder this.

unless your bond rating locally is in the gutter

The way I see it, if terms like 'book' and 'library' become too archaic for use in everyday conversation, then they become metaphors for "get your ass out there and $#%@ing learn something".

Now you're talking.

still the same, you only learn something useful by heavy close reading for hours and hours on end in isolation

it's just that distractions from this process are more colourful and exotic

There is great truth in that.

same as it always was, that chemical engineering stuff isn't going to enter your brain watching pron or arguing about the latest Trump scandal.

i wish i adopted a bit more of that book discipline, but accounting wasn't really worthy of that kind of study

maybe watching six videos and twitter feeds would help a reading of Finnegan's Wake a little better?

I claim horseshit here. Do you mean to tell me that the kid touching the hot stovetop for the first time didn't learn a very important lesson in less than one second?

i knew a few that touched that stove 20 times

i was distracted enough with 30 TV channels and newspapers up to the early 1990s, i don't know what i would have done for school studies with every imaginable whim of needless info at my fingertips like we have now

good thing it was just accounting and art history studies, and a few other electives, just had to read the textbook and apply a few hours a week of thinking to get through all that

to paraphrase Mark Twain, one of my former cats touched the hot stove, now it won't touch even a cold one

back in residence when MTV took paralyzing hold, a few 3rd year engineering students sat in the commons room watching music videos all day

i don't think they saw getting the boot as worthwhile then or 30 years down the road either

One of the great failures of the modern state is that it actively supplanted the moral responsibility of helping your neighbor and community involvement with passive assumed altruism at the barrel of a gun.

You just used three negative adjectives without providing much rebuttal. It was encouraging to see wages rise slightly, but I think we all know that massive tax cuts, without exception, precipitate a collapse. It's not a matter of if. It's a matter of when.

Wealth redistribution (GASP!) and economic equally do not automatically connote victimhood. I think the left is asinine with SOME of the social issues. It's like they've concocted these little rules, put everyone in a box, and decided their roles in the play. The backlash against the PC police was pivotal in Trump's election.

Trump was unafraid to voice bigoted garbage the right has covertly believed for many years. I actually respect him for that the same way I respect leftists who are unafraid to speak on some basic core issues.

Robin Hood was a myth.

It's people like these who are filled with envy, jealousy, greed, and anger that lack morals who want to take money that does not belong to them and give it to other people.

That's a Robbin' Hood.
