Everything you say is true. What gets me is Trump could have come away from this smelling like a rose. Instead he chose to put Ford at the butt end of a joke. It risked the Kavanaugh confirmation by way of swing votes and was like pouring salt in the open wound that divides this country in my humble opinion.

With all due respect I just don't get it.

Thats because her testimony IS a joke. It’s a total farce.

This is why there is significant amount of under reporting of sexual assaults. Call bull on what is "presumed bull" is how we got here. Women have generally been thought of as less of a person since forever.  (I'll conceed some religions and cultures actually point to women as the sacred line).  However in European thought and the Western world born from European expansion, the woman has been treated as inferior.  So if a woman makes a statement of sexual assault, it has historically been presumed bull if the male is of any importance to society.

I'm not typing this to make any statement about the proceedings.  I wanted to point out the presumed bull part of the statement and to try to explain the "other sides" thinking.

Health insurance.....yikes here we go.  We are paying 20k a year. First, we were well on our way to that number without Obamacare.  Using this as an argument that it's Obamacares fault is revisionist history.  Second, who can afford that? 20k on healthcare is absolutely ridiculous and where do these profits go? Pharma, medical tech and insurance (liability insurance that is). If these numbers don't tell you that our healthcare system is absolutely out of control I don't know what will. Again, blaming it on Obamacare is ludicrous.  Our healthcare industry was headed this way well before the law.

I think I know where you will fall in this argument, but I would rather have an entire nation paying for health insurance through a single means than only those who can afford it through a private industry.  The cost would be reduced because we are all one pool of healthy and sick, and the ability to control cost would be significant.

I'm also confident a second additional insurance market will exist as well, leaving people who can afford the payments to have additional items not covered under the single system.  BTW, nice assertion at the end.?

Please, tell me where I stand on health care.  I can’t wait to find out what I think.

You don’t get to pretend that the “Affordable Care Act” wasn’t sold as being a cheaper solution to what was in place...it’s literally in the name.  Welcome to consequences.

Beginning to look like the FBI investigation is a joke. No interview of Kavanaugh and Ford? Seriously? Can Flake and Murkowski seriously vote "yes" after this whitewash?

Ford testified under oath that she gave all information she had to the committee. What would the FBI get that she didn't already give under oath?

Even the GOP prosecutor there in the Senate made a strong argument that that was a terrible place to conduct such a investigation. She had five minute sound bite answers, as per the rules.

Haven’t we spent enough on the circular “he said she said?” crap?  Now it’s time to investigate the others that were around these two at the time of the accused assaults/boozing exposure etc etc to corroborate one story or another.

They did not investigate those people either. But I agree with you they should investigate it. Seems there is no shortage of people willing to come forward. Probably be a big mistake not to interview them, the Washington Post will be waiting to if they do not.

It's not an investigation, it's a background check.  Ford's and Kavanaugh's statements and testimony are already part of it.

Yeah, but at the rate we were going, in 30 years health insurance might have gotten this expensive anyway, so it's all good.

The Dems don't get to be pissed because Joe Biden set the precedent about not appointing SCJs in a President's final year.  That's the thing about the liberal mindset...they never see the consequences until they're gettting pummeled by them.

Uncle Creepy Joe discounted the future returns too deeply in his calculation on the Present Value of that position. Probably thought they’d be in power forever.

We've really had four different investigative sources investigating the matter.

You have the original 6 FBI background checks on Kavanaugh.

You have the Senate investigative teams which it appears that many people are not aware that they have quite a bit of resources to investigate these matters.  You better believe that whatever names were provided by either Kavanaugh or Ford, they've been looked into.

Then you have this most recent FBI supplemental investigation which to my understanding reached out to 9 different people.

Here is the last one and no one is talking about it because it's not under any official capacity.  The press.  We all know that the press hates the GOP and even more so Trump and it is as plain as day to anyone who is able to view this for what it is that they are blood thirsty and desperate to take Kavanaugh down.    How many investigative journalists do you believe have been assigned to this account to try to uncover this story.  If one of these investigative journalists had information that corroborated either Ramirez, Swetnicks or Ford's story you BETTER DAMN BELIEVE that it would have been out by now.  I have no doubt in my mind that there are many investigative journalists who are scouring the dumpster to try to find anything.  Which is why we have these stories of Kavanaugh organizing a college party with drinking in it or throwing ice in someone's face.  That's all they can come up and they know damn well they tried their hardest to try to find anything that would have corroborated Ford's or any of the other lady's story.

In my view the investigative journalists have put more resources than anyone to try to uncover anything and the best they could come up with is that Brett liked to drink a lot in college.

Absolutely correct.  The liberal media has had years to look into Kavanaugh.  The best they got is an unhinged woman who is lying her ass off but probably believes her delusions and a few people who say BK, like most American college students and others of similar age, liked to drink.

it reminds me of the BS around Clinton smoking pot.  Who freakin’ cares?

I think you make a good point, but Ivwould argue that Trump’s action are far more egregious considering his position.

This is bull ****.

The Democrats in the Senate (and elsewhere) are legitimizing a process of character assassination as politics.

A good man and his family have been destroyed, intentionally, by lies.

The people perpetrating these lies need to, and hopefully will, be prosecuted, including Dr. Ford.

They must not, under any circumstances, be treated with kid gloves.

What the Democrats are doing is unacceptable, and will lead to violence in our streets.

It has already directly led to two assassination attempts and the assault of a member of Congress.

The 'mocrats continue to bang their heads against the reality wall by conjuring up faux issues to feed the MSM.

At some not-too-distant point in time one hopes the political parties will realize that the man [Ooops. make that "person"] in the street is bone weary of the national pissing contest that has gone on lo these many years.

The 5 minute thing? That was Grassley, but doesn't matter, doesn't change the fact the GOP prosecutor criticized them for not being sufficient

Her lawyers specifically negotiated the rules under which she would testify and they were not agreeable to long protracted lines of questioning.  Grassley and DF agreed to the alternating format and the R's chose the prosecutor to be their shill attorney.
