I just think Trumps comments could cost him the swing votes he needs to vote Kavanaugh through, and for what purpose.

To fuel white male grievance. He cries its dangerous for men now, but almost 90% of sexual assault victims are women

I understand that, I do. He steps on a lot of rakes and makes his own trouble, no question about it. So I think it's a valid concern on many levels (the optics look bad/makes for an easy target for the rage-addicted/TDS suffering MSM watchers), but the reality of his words - especially considering the holes in her testimony - weren't that harsh. At least not to the audience he was speaking to.

Kavanaugh will still get confirmed. The midterms will have increased turnout on both sides - which makes everything between now and November 6th heightened in both scrutiny and overreaction.

My only quibble with what you said was that it reversed all the momentum, I'd argue that while it looks bad and gave some red meat to his critics, it doesn't move the needle much in terms of people's opinions (most have made up their minds on who they believe, and a lot of people do not believe her or find her credible - you just won't hear that on the news or coverage because of the (dis)information war we're all engaged in).

thanks for this perspective

Don't be run off by the partisans (on either side) down here. There's harsh reactions to long established trolls, but there IS a place for rational and reasonable discussion even between people who disagree on contentious issues.

The Arizona prosecutor had prior knowledge to some of Ford's lies. What would make her ask about her prepping anyone on how to handle a lie detector test? Her purpose was to get Ford on record under oath because her stories kept changing. The FBI doesn't need to interview her again. She's on record, under oath and now counter testimony is coming out to refute what she has said. Perjury trap.

Trumps comments on Ford reversed all the momemtum going the Republicans way and has got to be one of the worst mistakes I have ever seen a politician make before an upcoming election. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK!!!

F@!#!K!!!

Is there every polling evidence of that yet?

I thought it was interesting in that it provided an opportunity for the Senate Republicans to step up and say "Hey, shitbird, take this **** seriously!  Don't mock women who come forward!"  Basically, allow them to establish that just because they're searching for the truth does not mean they aren't sympathetic to assault victims.  Struck me as a risky attempt to take the heat for them.

He should have gone with the much more well-known "bimbo eruptions."

Would you happen to know if there are more false accusations or actual assaults?

Let's take one little slice of the world, PPP for example. You make on a minimum of about 50 false accusations a day while simultaneously assaulting everyone's intelligence here, so I would estimate that there are more individual assaults by you than false accusations by you.

You're obsessed with him. It's really silly, it doesn't matter who the president is, it really doesn't effect us in our day to day life.

To get so worked up over it is silly.

..

Also, his posts always have a arm flapping feel to them when things aren't going so well.
