LaDexter Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 He just got medically cleared after having a plate removed. He had some quality efforts for the NYG last season, is relatively young and healthy. I don't think he'd cost much. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/orleans-darkwa-cleared-for-action/
Buftex Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 I'd rather have him than Ivory, but I don't mind the RB's we have right now. If he recovers from his injury, I think Travarid Cadet could be a real find. 2
LaDexter Posted June 27, 2018 Author Posted June 27, 2018 Shady turns 30 in two weeks. Some youth would be welcome, as Ivory is another banged up vet. I'll watch for Cadet in preseason. 1

Cadet is also 29.. . it doenst bother me that much because Shady is a healthy 30, Ivory is still a good change of pace back and Cadet is a fresh 29 Just need to draft a young thoroughbred next draft and get him ready for the future
KGun12TD Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Did you see him play in NY? He was pretty bad as far as I can remember... 1
blacklabel Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Aside from Shady, the ages of some of the guys in the RB group aren't really a big deal considering they've mostly been second or third string guys without a lot of mileage on them. Like, Cadet for instance, been in the league since 2012 but has 49 career carries. But I don't disagree that Darkwa wouldn't be a bad pickup, added competition is usually always good.

What the hell does watching him play have to do with anything? I've decided on my narrative that he's a superstar in waiting and that Beane is an idiot for not bringing him in for a looksie 1

Seanbillsfan2206 Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 This is where I’d usually say “I’ve heard of him so let’s bring him in”. But I’ve never heard of him. And you also lost me at “had a plate removed”

gjv001 Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Prefer Ivory and, if recovered from his injury, Cadet.
Jay_Fixit Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 He ripped off a couple 40 yard runs against me in Madden last year. So there’s something. 1 1
LaDexter Posted June 27, 2018 Author Posted June 27, 2018 I liked what I saw. He runs with some power, not a lot of power, but is shifty and once he gets a hole, shows real open field speed. Can catch too. And he played last year with that metal plate in his knee. If anything, he should be a bit more "crisp" this year. http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/17331/orleans-darkwa NFL College RUSHING STATS SEASON TEAM GP ATT YDS AVG LNG TD FD FUM LST 2014 MIA 4 4 2 0.5 7 0 0 0 0 2014 NYG 7 5 21 4.2 12 1 1 0 0 2015 NYG 16 36 153 4.3 17 1 7 0 0 2016 NYG 10 30 111 3.7 17 2 7 0 0 2017 NYG 15 171 751 4.4 75 5 33 1 0 Career 52 246 1,038 4.2 75 9 48 1 0 RECEIVING STATS SEASON TEAM GP REC TGTS YDS AVG LNG TD FD FUM LST 2014 MIA 4 3 3 31 10.3 17 0 2 0 0 2014 NYG 7 2 3 17 8.5 9 0 0 0 0 2015 NYG 16 3 5 31 10.3 15 0 2 0 0 2016 NYG 10 2 4 12 6.0 9 0 0 0 0 2017 NYG 15 19 28 116 6.1 13 0 7 0 0 Career 52 29 43 207 7.1 17 0 11 0

LaDexter Posted June 27, 2018 Author Posted June 27, 2018 His 2017 stats were with the plate in his knee. The plate is now out. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/05/09/orleans-darkwa-had-leg-surgery/ Posted by Josh Alper on May 9, 2018, 1:09 PM EDT Getty Images Free agent running back Orleans Darkwa had a plate inserted in his leg after fracturing it during the 2016 season, but it won’t be there when he next takes the field. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Darkwa had surgery to remove the plate on Wednesday. Per the report, the injury has fully healed and doctors recommended removing the plate in hopes that it helps with Darkwa’s explosiveness.
