Healthy mix...the crispier and the hotter the better.  I am bald and like to have to wipe the sweat off my brow when eating wings.   Personal preference ?

I prefer drums, but I'll eat either. I never knew the other part was called a "flat."

On the side, celery with blue cheese. (The blue cheese is for the celery, not the wings.)

Crispy is the key, much like COLD is the key to beer.

The blue cheese is for the pizza.

Not much of a wing eater anymore, but when I was, it was always the drumsticks.

I hate the other "2 bone" wings....too much work for not enough meat.

Love them both.  Drums are easier to get the meat, but flats - if you're thorough - have plenty of meat, too.  Love the challenge of the flats.  You need to eat what you can from them, then pull them apart and suck the rest of the meat off the bone.  I love a mixture.

I feel like maybe some folks in this thread aren’t eating the flats right if it’s too much work.... gug- why aren’t you just splitting the bones from the start?

not true. if they are cooked right all you need to do is to take the end of the flat that was attached to the drum, grip it tightly with your thumb and first two fingers, slide them downward till you release the attachments to the bone.  if the wing is not too meaty, you can now take the entire thing in one swoop.
