People are going to die.  People you love.  Your family, friends, neighbors.

And not just of trauma wounds.  They'll die of starvation.  They'll die of dysentery.

You're talking about bringing a formal end to polite society in favor of unbridled violence against your fellow Americans.  You're talking about the interruption of the supply of food, water, and energy.

You're talking about the complete end of the domestic economy, with functioning businesses being replaced by roving gangs of looters and mini-anarchist protectorates.

Not to mention atrocities perpetrated on innocents by deranged opportunists....  it's not going to be blue versus gray... It'll literally be every man for himself, until

the ruthless Mao-like figures rise to rally those desperate for protection to their side.

Bottom line:  Washington must lead the way when it comes to civility... It'll take the

entire legislative branch to get the executive branch to follow suit.

Disagree with the bolded. WE have to lead the way, in our day to day lives. In our day to day conversations. In our day to day interactions with those who think/act/believe differently than us.

We have to STOP looking to others to show us the way. We know the way. We have to be our own saviors.

I used to think that too...

However, the sad fact is that people mimic what works... They also gravitate towards power... If the seat of domestic power in the U.S. treats public civility as something

burdensome, and unnecessary, you can bet the masses will follow... Mankind's been trying to bail on civility since the ten commandments, anyway.

People are indeed programmed to follow, but it's a cycle that must be broken.

The world would be so much better if we could all just sit down with some coffee and a nice bundt cake and talk it out.

Think of the problems we could resolve!

Difficult, when the short-term rewards of brutality and group-think are so lucrative...

Apparently the prevailing view on the left is that it's fine to be a rude, classless !@#$ to people whose political views differ from yours as long as you accuse them of racism.

Evidence of said racism is optional.

It started with a comment about half of American being "deplorable", and thus not worth working with or conversing with. This was pushed by Clinton media acolytes in the MSM and Hollywood hard.

Then, after that back-fired and he won the election, it escalated to hyperbole about anyone who dared question that deplorable decree as being a Putin sympathizer. This was pushed by the Obama and Clinton media acolytes in the MSM and Hollywood hard.

Then, after that didn't take and the evidence of political spying mounted against 44, the rhetoric escalated to anyone daring to support Trump is supporting a Nazi regime, and thus not worth working with or conversing with. This was pushed by the Obama and Clinton media acolytes in the MSM and Hollywood hard.

Now we've reached a fever pitch, a gumbo stew of all three hyperbolic and divisive stances - designed to denigrate one side of the political spectrum while giving the other a free pass to commit violence and descend into mob-justice mentality... and the Obama and Clinton media acolytes in the MSM and Hollywood are blaming it on Trump's divisive remarks HARD.

They think we're stupid. They think we can't remember as far back as 24 months ago.

They're wrong.

November won't be kind to the DNC.

They won't.  They think it's more appropriate to harass, intimidate, threaten, and even assault the opposition.

You know...same tactics the Nazis used.

And, incidentally, Donald Trump..

Against the media.

Against political protesters.

Against decency itself.

Please clarify who you mean by they.

Well, WE can remember, but their supporters have short memories. Every time one of their phony scandals falls apart they're on to the next without giving it a second thought.

Trump is a lightning rod and a counter puncher. That's why and how he won. The attacks against him and his supporters were every bit as ugly, if not uglier, by the opposing side (which controls 90% of the media and messaging industries) since he started winning primaries. What you and others call an attack on "decency itself" is viewed by many more as counter punching against a tilted and incredibly vile opposition.

Should a President be better than that and rise above? It's certainly something many would like to see. But would it matter if the other side is committed to destroying him with lie after lie after lie? Or is it better to have a guy who's going to call it how it is, break down the walls of everyone's echo chambers, and expose the machine to sunlight?

There's pros and cons to both sides of that plan. And while Trump certainly is not blameless, putting this all at his feet is intellectually dishonest.

That's why the crimes committed, and there were VERY serious crime committed, can't just be exposed - but the criminals must be punished and made examples of so that this never happens again.

I do believe that's still the plan. The slow and deliberate roll out of evidence (which began in December of '17) has proven that to me time and time again. Big fish are going to fry, they must. Otherwise what you said will continue to be true and the cycle will go on unbroken.

These are very dangerous situations - by design. All it takes is one nutter to feel threatened, or one nutter to take action, and we're in a whole new world.

And this is BEING ENCOURAGED by politicians in office today. Vote them out. They do not have anyone but their own best interests in mind.
