Cripple Creek Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 (edited) Always enjoyed listening/watching him. RIP https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2018/06/08/us/anthony-bourdain-obit/index.html Edited June 8, 2018 by Cripple Creek
RaoulDuke79 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 (edited) Man this sucks. I really enjoyed his shows and his book Kitchen Confidential. Very sad news. This one hurts. God damn, mental illness really needs to be front and center in the things that we as a country need to address. Edited June 8, 2018 by RaoulDuke79 1
plenzmd1 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 So weird..once again, we are reminded how little we know about "celebrities"
Johnny Hammersticks Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 Very sad. Having grown up in a restaurant, Kitchen Confidential is one of the most influential books I have ever read in my life. Such a wise man. This sucks.
BuffaloBill Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 I was absolutely stunned as the guy seemed to be living his own dream life. I guess the reality was that he was struggling with his own demons. May he RIP.
LeGOATski Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 Dammit. Seems like he loved traveling the world and had a good perspective on life. Who's next?
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 Now this one hurts. Again I’m flummoxed by how many rich and successful people off themselves.

Mark80 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 When you have been around mental illness for a majority of your life you kind of can get a feel for it in other people at times. For some reason, he fit that mold to me. Can't put it into words, but I can remember having a sense that he fell into this bucket while watching his shows and, unfortunately, this is not shocking to me at all. Such a shame.
LeGOATski Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 His daughter is only 11 and they supposedly had a great relationship. That gives you no reason to stick around for a little while? Incomprehensible. 1 1

I always had a little bit of that feeling with him too. You could just kinda tell that he had battles demons at some point. Always liked his work a lot. RIP

Uncle Joe Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 I always though alcohol would be his demise (maybe it contributed?) Anyways he always appeared to live life to the fullest until the end. RIP.
