Not that people died or lost their homes. If they are at fault I don't care about their political career. The only thing I will say, without looking it up I'm sure they were under pressure to cut taxes assume budget. I am currently sad that people are losing their homes. Even the rich ones! Even the Ukrainians generals with mansions, I guess about 10 of those went up in flames.

Would they want him as a Senator even? So his political career is probably over. I’ve been of the mind that California treats the insurance rate market as a political issue, artificially suppressing rates. This analysis by Bankrate reveals Cali runs about $800 below the national average. While it would be foolish to use the wildfires as evidence the average is too low, too high or just right, it seems pretty obvious when insurance cos are leaving the market (and were doing so before the fires), there are not scores of companies vying for the business and the government is mandating that companies remain in the market on a compulsory basis that there is something very wrong with the system. Cali $1400 Colorado $3000 Florida $5400 Louisiana $4000 https://www.bankrate.com/insurance/homeowners-insurance/states/#home-insurance-rates-by-state Edited Thursday at 02:42 PM by leh-nerd skin-erd 2 1 1

Not cut taxes...redirect taxes to support schools, Healthcare for migrants, food for migrants, shelters for migrants, homeless, drug users in the sanctuary cities, police to chase probation non bail cri inals fir the 4th time etc etc. 2 1

Cali $1400 Colorado $3000 Florida $5400 Louisiana $4000 https://www.bankrate.com/insurance/homeowners-insurance/states/#home-insurance-rates-by-state I can speak to Florida fairly well, not so much the others. Florida has almost two completely different markets, those along the coast and those in middle of state. In Orlando you can insure a 500k home for $2000 a year. The reason for such high average is that a similar house along the coast would have a $10k premium because it is assumed it will be heavily damaged once every 10-20 years, but that still is less than it should be. Government does need to be involved in insurance though for two main reasons, one is to ensure reserved are high enough to pay out when needed and secondly to ensure that certain damages are covered. In FL all Condo policies are basically identical, in NYC, at least in 2010, each policy was its own beast and idiot/corrupt condo board members were buying policies that were garbage and did not cover anything. Insurance is a mundane boring topic but is unfortunately vital when it is needed. 1 1

One would think that failures of this magnitude would be a game-changer, but it’s California. More likely they double down and go with more of the same. 1

Stupid people always think I am one of those, I am not a person who feels making the incompetent feel good about themselves is a good idea. Help them become competent, praise them when they show competence, but make them uncomfortable with their incompetence. 1
