B-Man Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 UNEXPECTEDLY: Shake Shack to shut 6 California locations, including 5 in LA, after state’s $20 minimum wage hike. “It’s the first time the chain will close restaurants for purposes that were not construction-related, a spokesperson told trade publication Restaurant Business, which first reported the news.” https://nypost.com/2024/08/28/business/shake-shack-to-shut-6-california-locations-after-states-20-minimum-wage-hike/

Since the product is worse, they've failed. 1
Wacka Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 (edited) I have a friend who is a manager of a small office building (4 stories) a block away from the approach to the Bay Bridge in downtown SF. They have gated underground parking that visitors cannot access unless let in by an employee of one of the tenants. If she doesn't bring in lunch, she doordashes it. They had to cut down the trees in front of the building because the homeless bums would climb them and break into second floor windows at night. Edited September 1, 2024 by Wacka 1
Doc Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 So the $150K for illegals to buy a home was killed by Grewsom. Apparently they tried this in June with low income families and the program went bankrupt in 11 days.

aristocrat Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 https://www.yahoo.com/news/l-county-district-attorney-one-132433225.html Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, who ascended to office vowing sweeping reforms to the criminal justice system and then faced intense criticism over public safety issues, lost his bid for re-election, The Associated Press projected. Gascón was defeated by Nathan Hochman, a former federal prosecutor who seized on voter concerns about crime and homelessness in the nation’s most populous county and largest law enforcement jurisdiction.
