Proactive deals pay less than superstar deals so you have to think about that as well. Overall, though, a guy who hasn't won the starting job yet is going to get offers but especially a guy like Mahomes was probably not getting really good offers. If he plays well he'll get a lot of endorsement money in the years to come. If he doesn't it was a missed opportunity to cash in while you can. Time will tell whether he made the right decision.
