hondo in seattle Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 (edited) Here in Seattle, numerous locals think they invented the term, "12th man." They didn't, of course. The expression has been around since at least 1900. But Seahawk fans have embraced it and it seems now a very much Seattle thing with #12 Jerseys, flags, and logos everywhere. Buffalo could do the same with "Respect the Process" - except that it's not all that inspiring. I suppose it's a good catchphrase to use with the players because you want them to embrace McD's way of doing things. But it doesn't resonate with me as a fan. Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Waiting for the text message from OBD, so some ambulance chaser can scoop me a new hoodie saying 'Respect the Process' as part of the settlement. 1

Let’s be more creative and come up with traditions and tag lines that others are envious of. We have mastered that on the tailgating end. I really wish that we had something like this though (my favorite tradition in sports): They sure let Karius walk alone. RM players were the only ones to give him any words after the match. Absolutely can't stand Liverpool.

BillnutinHouston Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Can someone explain to me why this is important enough to try to trademark? What's the point?

Like driving towards Buffalo on the I-90 from Erie Pa. and having a sign stating "Buffalo: An All American City" . That's an official recognition by an outside party, though. https://www.nationalcivicleague.org/america-city-award/ 1

davspo Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 It sort of reminds me of when EJ Manuel sold stock in his performance. 2
FappyTheClown Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 I'd buy a McDermott respect the process T-shirt.
