She had a meeting with Kushner and most likely a short meeting with Trump to push the pardon. Regardless of the merits of prison reform these are very good optics for Trump and at a time that blacks are moving towards Trump a good move to solidify that. Similarly, taking part in stuff we all do, for a leisure activity. However, I do fault Trump for even talking with Kardashian. It adds legitimacy to something which ought not be entertained. And, from someone who's not a fan of her, I got to give her credit for bravery. It's a risk to take that picture, she has a huge brand and there's probably very little crossover. My understanding, and I can't back this up with a link, but black approval of Trump has doubled in a recent poll. If he can improve that or even hold it at that it would be a game changer. I've never been a fan of her but she does carry a lot of weight with a certain crowd. We shouldn't underestimate Kanye's influence either. Other influential blacks who are maybe questioning their allegiance to the left could follow his lead and this thing could snowball. We have to win these midterms and maintain control of both houses. So last week I drove to work and while walking the few blocks from the garage to my office I came across this big crowd of young people on the sidewalk....a line down the block and around the corner. Cops actually had them in holding pens. Hundreds of them, each with a vapid, trashy look on their faces. I couldn't imagine what this lame collection was doing there at 8am, so asked a security guy who was standing there and he repied "some Kardashian thing". Well it turns out one of the other sisters was opening up a little Stupid, Spoiled Whore make-up shop and apparently that was the grand opening with a personal Kardashian appearance. Left work about 6pm that day.....still a handful standing in the pens waiting for their turn. I'm guessing the star of the show was back at the Hilton by then. My point being, I'd be suprised if half that crowd could name the person Trump beat in 2016. Let me preface this with the fact that Trump meets with someone like Kardashian because, regardless of the kind of stupidity she brings to the table, she has millions upon millions of people who follow her stupidity. One meeting and photo is a big deal from a marketing perspective. But do us a favor, the next time you want to equate the stupidity of a meeting like this, perhaps you can bring the same sarcastic incredulity as you remember Barack Obama's interview with this woman.
