You saw my seats, I paid less than 40 bucks for both seats ---- Was going on go see Imagine Dragons but they are not playing anything good. No Demons, no Thunder. Just radioactive. Lame Chicago is with REO Speedwagon and only playing new ****. Not one Chicago song I recognize. Pathetic. REO is playing their hits. But I've added Marilyn Manson and Chvrches to the list. Before any purchase I check out set lists and only buy tickets to events the day of and save hundreds and use secret methods to upgrade. I didn't pay anything for them. My mother in law bought them as a birthday gift. Quote

What did you think of sturgill? I didn't enjoy him. Old crow medicine nshow was awesome. Willie got sick so he never came on and came back and when he did he brought the Avett Brothers and damn they were interesting. Jamie Johnson also came for his return show. 30 seconds to Mars David Allan Coe My two favorite concerts thus far Also adding Weezer and the pixies. Quote
Rico Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Saw the Pretenders Friday night at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD, good times and the city parking garage 1 block away was free (always a plus). Don't try taking vids with your phone during the show, Chrissie was going ballistic on people. 1 Quote

Chrissy's hair may be white now, but her vocals weren't really missing anything. Some people weren't happy because there were a lot of songs they didn't play (like no Brass In Pocket or Talk of the Town), but I loved seeing them in a smaller club (capacity says 2K, but it felt smaller). Middle of the Road still tore down the house. Edited July 3, 2018 by Rico Quote

Neko Case 2 weeks ago also during 3 songbreaks chastised audience members for taking pictures/video. I get that they want peoples full attention, but come on. Deal with it Quote

The Poojer Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 people have their own way of enjoying the experience, me personally...i try to get a photo as the band takes the stage and gets set, then i try to put my phone away. It does get annoying when people have their phone up the entire time taking video, but also, i love being able to find the video's on youtube, and sometimes catching some of the show through the other persons camera screen is a better visual than my 5-9" frame can see from my vantage. Unfortunately it's a part of the concert going experience and it's not going to change anytime soon. 2 minutes ago, Gugny said: You reminded me of this comparison: both pics of when a new pope was announced. I usually take a couple pictures and sometimes I'll capture a video if it's something really cool. I haven't been around anyone who's videoed most/all of a show. That would piss me off. What is even more annoying to me is when people are texting non-stop during shows. If you don't care to even watch/listen to the band, then go sit in the !@#$ing car. Quote

I personally liked Sturgil, but can see why someone wouldn't care for him. I've been a mild fan of his for a few years now. OCMS wasn't at this specific date. Ryan Bingham was probably the one I enjoyed the most, and I'd never heard of him until the lineup came out. Quote
The Real Buffalo Joe Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 I saw Chubby Checker on Tuesday night. Free show at a local park's outdoor theater, so my fiance and her parents thought, why the hell not. He actually put on a fantastic show. Although he only has about 3 or 4 songs of his own that I recognized, he sang a lot of songs from the 50s, and his band was fantastic. Came into the audience and twisted with my fiance. He even signed autographs for everybody who was willing to wait for him after the show. On 7/3/2018 at 6:30 AM, Gugny said: I hardly ever take my phone out during a concert. Holding a lighter up during a ballad, cool. Flashlight on your phone, lame. 1 Quote

When I go to concerts and the opening acts are terrible, then I'd just as soon waste time on my phone then pay attention to whatever opening act there is. Sturgill Simpson was downright terrible, one of the worst I've ever seen and it was all I could do to focus on anything else. There have been several acts where I can just write out the opening acts. Thirty Seconds to Mars add Walk the Moon open for them, and it was terrible. I miss judge getting there a little bit too early to miss Walk the Moon. Generally I skip the opening acts that I don't care about Quote

Generally I skip the opening acts that I don't care about I got free tickets to Panic at the Disco and Weezer a few years back. Fiance was a bigger Panic fan back in high school, so we went. I've never really been a Panic fan to begin with, but aside from a beautiful rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, they were terrible. It was screaming Teenage girls the whole show. And the lead singer said F every other word. Which didn't shock me, but it felt forced, like he was going out of his way to be edgy. Thankfully, all the teenage kids left before Weezer started, who I'd never been a fan of, but they put on a pretty good show. Quote

I'm going to probably see Weezer and the pixies later this month I'm telling ya dude. Lnexperience.com. Buy cheap lawn tickets so you're in. Then go there to upgrade to pit or front for $20. Quote
Fr. Jerk Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 I went to Warren G a few weeks ago. He did about 4 songs then performed Regulate and bounced the eff out. I'm glad I got a free ticket, ya dig? Quote
Jrb1979 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Reading this thread and how short a lot of these acts play for makes me realize how worth it is to see Dave Matthews. No opening act and he usually plays for 2 to 2.5 hours. I have seem him 2 years ago and looking forward to seeing him next week. Quote

There were also like 5 opening acts of an all day festival. Quote

Jrb1979 Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Dave Matthews once again put on a fantastic show. No opening act and played for 2.5 hours. After seeing him its hard to justify paying to see anyone else. Most acts play for 90 minutes tops. I will say what does amaze me is how so few seem to like his music but yet he sells out constantly. 1 Quote
Gugny Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Concert isn't until November, but I just bought tickets to Generation Axe for my son and me. Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt and Tosin Abasi on one stage together .... this is not going to suck one bit. https://www.palacealbany.org/events/detail/generation-axe 1 Quote
