peterpan Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Yes. A number of times. But I have NEVER really liked someone, and they turned out bad.

Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 John Elway. I knew way back then that 'old bolt neck' would crush the hearts of countless opposing fans with those late game comebacks for the Broncos. Seriously, a very successful QB from a very QB rich draft.
Jay_Fixit Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 (edited) Andy Dalton Colin Kaepernick for a brief time.. Both didn’t do anything for me and have had periods of success. On the opposite, I said Derek Carr should go top 10. Edited May 16, 2018 by Jay_Fixit

He’s better than I expected. That was the first name that came to my mind. I just saw a few games in college, and didn’t think much of him. Not that he’s GREAT, but he’s much better than I thought.
DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 I can't think of any but have a good idea why the OP started the thread. I guess the truth hurts, they didn't draft rosen and I'm really glad they didn't and look forward to allen leading the offense. they made the right pick.

That’s better than I expected but I’m not sure that he’s a guy that you can win championships with. He’s a good QB.

K-9 Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Don’t recall off hand. But there are countless QBs I liked that crapped the bed.

Over 29 years of fanhood Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 (edited) Tannyhill turned out better than I expected. oh and Cam- I thought he’d be a total bust. 100% wrong. Wish he fell to 3 that year. Edited May 16, 2018 by Over 29 years of fanhood
BuffaloHokie13 Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Dalton and Tannehill both exceeded my expectations.
Cash Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Not sure if Jameis counts, but he's better than I thought he'd be. I don't have strong takes on all incoming QBs, though. And my list of "guys I thought would be good but busted" is pretty long. Recent negative takes: Josh Allen Jameis Winston Blake Bortles Johnny Manziel Ryan Tannehill Brandon Weeden Jake Locker Blaine Gabbert Christian Ponder Tim Tebow

I would say most people pick the bad QBs pretty well. It's harder picking the good ones. Edited May 16, 2018 by TheTruthHurts
John from Riverside Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Disliked? Im trying to remember a player that I openly "disliked" Sounds much like certain fans didnt get the player they wanted and are still sulking. Time to get over it sir.
bouds Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Derek Carr would be mine. Still don't think he's as good as some think, but he's way better than I ever thought he'd be. On the other end, thought RGIII was going to be great, bust city.
