True. But high quality tape can be used. Foil tape too. http://www.greenbuildingadvisor.com/blogs/dept/musings/sealing-ducts-what-s-better-tape-or-mastic Better yet, duct mastic does a more professional job. So, I say glue the tail on with mastic!

The Mastic is considered better building practice around here.

Airbus planes are much easier to repair. They're very "modular" in design, but the parts are very expensive when compared to Boeing. Airbus sells the planes on the cheap but makes it up on parts sales, and the parts are mostly NOT interchangeable with Boeing.
BUFFALOKIE
I would bet that the entire airframe is now scrap.

Definitely one thing most people wouldn't mind hearing are expensive and cost alot is airplanes, not something you want to hear is "cheap" and gets repaired w/ tape, lol

There was a 727 at the gate, and the jetway reached the bottom of the forward door. So it lifted the door, and the plane, till the door failed. The bottom of the door was bent outward about 60 degrees. The mechanics came from the base, with a lot of heavy tool boxes, but no replacement door. I asked the guys where the door was, and found out that they were going to repair the damaged door. He said, "this anin't no 57 Chevy! When they build the fuselage, it's one piece. Then they use a template to cut the door, so no 2 doors are ever exactly alike." So 4-5 days later, the original door was repaired, and the plane went back into service, with no pressurization problems.
