His vision of having on bully on offense really worked. The Bills had a top 10 offense in both points scored and yards those two years with Tyrod Taylor at QB. The transition away from the 4-3 killed him. Can we not do this?
Nihilarian Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 The only thing I miss about Rex Ryan was his idea of building a better offensive line to run the ball and control the clock. I do believe in 2015 he was chasing an undrafted free agent 6'4 320lb OT in La'el Collins who eventually signed with Dallas. As outdated as his ideas on how to run a defense were...the man also had the idea of signing QB Tyrod Taylor, OG Richie Incognito and if he has managed to sign Collins that line would have been even better.

reddogblitz Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Rex did have the best record of the drought coaches. 1
Warcodered Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Even from an entertainment perspective it doesn't quite work. Anyone who is on here eating up all that information is going to watch the games no matter what but having a winning team would effect other viewers.

reddogblitz Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 If we had been winning, Rex would have been a lot of fun. But since we didnt, he was just another blithering loud mouth. Too bad. He had the talent, just couldn't make it happen (due to his own buffoonery).

Beane is quite interesting to listen to... he gives away little morsels of information. McDermott gives you nothing. I watch every week and each week it is 20 minutes of my life I never get back. I think we're in a better place with McBean, but we had far worse than Rex
