DCOrange Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 I'd like to get Tanner too. Best bet might be to just wait and see if he's cut/placed on practice squad and then Buffalo can scoop him up. Obviously he almost certainly wouldn't be the upgrade that Buffalo so desperately needs though.
BuffaloHokie13 Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 I understand the train of thought, and had it myself, but I think I'd prefer to give Josh better talent than he had at Wyoming rather than just familiar talent, if possible.
TigerJ Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 (edited) 6'1" 4.58 40. I guess my reaction is that he was a big fish in a small pond at Wyoming. He got big numbers at Wyoming because he was Wyoming's best receiver and he played at a lower competition level. Josh Allen is going to have lots of time before he gets on the field to discover some new favorite receivers. I bet he'll develop a strong liking for Brandon Reilly, who is a bit bigger and faster than Gentry, and catches everything thrown in his direction. I mean, going out and getting Gentry wouldn't be the worst decision the Bills ever made, but I just don't think in the long run that it would have much impact on Josh Allen's development and production. CajunBillsBacker Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 If this doesn’t tell you where Allen’s receivers were at Wyoming. His best receiver he ever had went undrafted, and we’re talking about picking him up to be our 5th receiver cause there’s chemistry. 1
Acattack15 Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Great idea. Trade the bears one of our backend players for Tanner Gentry. Make Josh Allen as comfortable as possible in his first training camp/offseason.

BB@Shooter Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Gentry was Trubisky's favorite target in camp. And Hollister has been with New England for 2 years and contributed in preseason this year. Had 2 TD''s called back. Not sure they would be stars by any means, but they couldn't hurt the Bills, that's for sure.

LeGOATski Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Or Allen can just build chemistry with the WRs currently on his team.... He looks good throwing to Ray Ray.
scribo Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Who is cut to make room for Gentry? Each player they kept so far has a specific role, I believe.

I believe he’d need to be a waiver claim, we’d need to hope he got through to us at 20 or whatever our initial draft slot was.
