Many interesting story lines : Rookie QB and another 1st round pick, Phillips and Williams, similar players starting and ending their careers, Shady alone would be entertaining, Mrs. Pegula taking over as President, breaking the drought and the "process" to return to the playoffs again this year.

I don't understand why there has seemingly been a fear over at One Bills Drive, regardless of front office regimes, and even ownership, to do this.

Wouldn't they have to volunteer since they made the playoffs...As I recall, the only mandatory teams are non-playoffs and non-first year head coaches.

Not for me. I just want to see this team concentrate on developing these young players and getting better overall - without the distraction that "Hard Knocks" would bring.

Yep, the article I posted above indicates that only these teams would have to accept Hard Knocks:

» 49ers
» Broncos
» Browns
» Chargers
» Ravens
» Redskins

I think we can refuse since we do not have a 1st year head coach and we have made the playoffs in the past 2 seasons. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000901695/article/6-teams-eligible-for-mandatory-hard-knocks-star-turn

My guess from the 6 teams listed in that article is that it will be either the 49ers or Browns. I know I'd be interested in watching Baker and Tyrod.

Hard to disagree with you here. Cleveland would be the best watch by a mile. They came off an 0-16 season, have a charismatic #1 pick in Baker and other interesting personalities like Josh Gordon, Landry, Myles G, etc and a coach on the hotseat. I don't see anything compelling about SF - can Jimmy being handsome sustain 6 episodes? Baltimore could be chosen for the Flacco-Jackson storyline.

Selfishly I would like to see the Bills but understand why they do not want to participate. I do agree the Browns would make the best choice out of the teams listed.

I watch hard knocks every year so it really doesn't matter who they have this season.  I'd rather not have the Bills on because I think it would be a distraction I'm glad they have the opportunity to say no.

I personally would love to see our Bills - what a lens into the team.

From a team standpoint I understand why they would not want to participate - it is a distraction.

If you don't lot this from a fans view can you tell me what the team benefits are?

Absolutely I would, because it would be fun to learn more about the players, coaches, and organization in general. They're my favorite team so I want as much as I can get.

I don't disagree, but I don't think the coach wants any extra attention on his players and staff.

It's fair to say McDermott would practice at 5 am everyday for 2 weeks straight with no fan attendance, no evening practices, and no media in attendance, if he could.

They worked out, what, 13 times in Rochester last year?  I think it was the shortest Training Camp at Fisher since the agreement began.  It's a small, private, affluent suburban college that does very little (read, literally nothing) to accommodate crowds, walk-up traffic, parking.  The college doesn't want people there, and the team doesn't really want people there either.

If this were at UB, as example, there'd be more than enough room for access, infrastructure, parking, amenities, activities, etc.  It's actually a way better idea, but the Bills would never do it.

I think if you're reading the tea leaves correctly, should Beane and McDermott last here beyond 2020, training camp in Rochester is not gonna last much longer.  I give it to the end of their agreement, which I think is 3 more years, including this one.

It's probably been posted already, but I'm pretty sure they aren't candidates this year due to the rules. Would it be interesting? Of course. That said, I don't think I ever want to see them on Hard Knocks.

The people saying they dont want to see the Bills on it are totally nuts.  If the Bills were on hard knocks, you'd watch every episode and absolutely LOVE it.

While not an obvious choice, I think the 49ers would be interesting, although I agree probably not as interesting as the Browns.

Still, you have a younger QB with his first full offseason leading his team. (Unfortunately, his looks probably would entice a certain portion of the potential audience to tune in.)

Seeing Shanahan as a young, innovative coach would be interesting.

McKinnon taking over as lead back.

Richard Sherman and Rueben Foster have to be draws, too.
