McSorley?? Um ...

Glad we have Allen.

The list is not showing up for me , what are the rankings?

It’s a slideshow and it includes guys who arent draft eligible. But McSorley lost a lot of weapons so will be interesting to see how he does this year.

To start the year I think Jake Browning has earned the right to be considered the #1 QB.   I think that changes as the year progresses and Drew Lock eventually becomes the number 1 guy, but that will depend a lot of his ability to increase his completion % and win some games at Mizzou.

Ryan Finley gets a lot of hype, but I think he is a consistent yet underwhelming prospect.  Think he is more of a late 1st round guy.

One guy to keep an eye on is Andrew Ford from UMASS.  Plays at a terrible program, but he has all the tools.

To be clear, that link isn't ranking them as NFL prospects; just as college players. So far, I've put in significant film time on three QBs:

Drew Lock - https://draftqbs.wordpress.com/2019-draft-prospects/drew-lock/

Justin Herbert - https://draftqbs.wordpress.com/2019-draft-prospects/justin-herbert/

Shea Patterson - https://draftqbs.wordpress.com/2019-draft-prospects/shea-patterson/

I view all 3 of them as 1st round prospects at the moment, though the latter two I'd categorize as fringe 1st rounders at the moment. I expect Lock to be a top 5-10 pick if he can sustain last year's level of play though.

Is Drew Lock really that good?

The class currently looks that bad

That I agree with.

On another note, you must be thrilled with the incoming Hokies to the Bills.

I can't wait to see Edmunds play this year.

I think we got some good ones. Even Cam Phillips in UDFA has a shot at making it through camp, potentially on PS.

I've seen a lot of Herbert near the top of quarterback boards.. If this stays true into the draft, we're looking at an extremely down year for quarterback's.  I see a lot of Josh Allen in Herbert, except Herbert is a worse version.

He shows good arm strength and mobility, but his accuracy is horrid.  While he's got a big arm, his velocity is average at best.

That being said, Herbert is the only quarterback I've watched thus far and haven't put any work into Drew Lock who is another consensus pick at the top of quarterback boards.

A QB will go top 5-10 in basically every single draft class as long as it isn’t a disastrous one like the EJ class. He’s the best in this class at the moment IMO. Doesn’t quite have the arm strength of Josh Allen, but he has very good physical tools and is a better passer than Allen at this point. My biggest knock on him is that Missouri’s system last year was very simple. It’ll be interesting to see how he adapts to a new coaching staff this year.

May have to check out a UMass game this year.  Cool

McSorley is a guy whom I like just as I wanted us to get Mayfield. We will really see what the 6'0" QB from VA has this year now that Barkley is gone. If he steps up  and shines in Saquon's absence I wouldn't be surprised to see him go #1 overall as well.

2019 NFL Draft: An early introduction to the potential top QBs in next year's draft

With the ultra-hyped quarterback prospects from the 2018 draft set for minicamps with their new NFL teams, it's time to look ahead to next year's crop of signal-callers.

It's a group that won't garner nearly as much hype as the Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson and Mason Rudolph crew, but there certainly will be teams in the quarterback market early in the 2019 draft.

Here's an early introduction to the potential top passers in the 2019 NFL Draft.

I think he could also impacted by the change in OC . Joe Morehead was great at designing the offense for him. I’ve always thought McSorley was “Mayfield Lite”. He was a big time recruit as a safety believe it or not.

He needs to be more consistent throwing. The offense is tailor made for guys running open

He is impressive physically though, even though the backup Drew Anderson might be a better natural passer
