The 2018 Bills do have a QB coach.  I think the transition between WR and QB isn't going to be difficult as far as coaching.  I think it's an advantage he's done both.

100% . He knows how WRs think and react and what kinda plays they like

After he gets close to Allen he will get an idea  of what he likes to do on the field and you can gameplay and draw up plays that fit the strength of your offense and QB

I think it’s a positive he connects with WRs and QBs

McBean have talked a lot about Daboll working with Allen and they have said very little about Culley. So I think they expect Daboll to have a lot to do with his development. I still think they should Rob Chudzinski as an offensive assistant, and put him in charge of working with Allen exclusively. He's doing nothing right now and has a relationship with Beane and McDermott.

I think adding any more coaches to the HC/OC/QBCoach chain gets you too many cooks in the kitchen. Those 3 resources should be aligned and preaching the same thing.

I would think Palmer makes sense since he's mostly recently worked with Allen.....and loves him.

I don't know anything about Culley other than what position he has coached and when. He could be awesome, he could be terrible. I doubt where you put your feet when you're supposed to be throwing changes much from year to year though, are we assuming he forgot? We've had "gurus" on the staff before and they haven't done a thing for our QBs, I don't really think most of us are qualified to determine who is good at that job and who is bad.

My guess is that McDermott was looking for a great teacher regardless of his QB experience. If a person has the proven attributes necessary to be considered a great teacher, it really doesn't make much of a difference what the subject matter is.

Ohhh Jonny Flynn....

It's amazing the number of posters who remember me under a different user name. Yet I have no idea who they are.

I must be doing something right.

Trust the process?

I’ll be honest, my trust is waning. But at this point we are committed to seeing this relic of a process through and I’m hoping for the best.

It's understandable how quickly you are losing patience.....they've been at it for a whole year and Bills haven't made the playoffs in the last 5 months.

It's almost time to clean house again.

Last time I will address this because I have 100 times already and can’t keep typing it out lol

Yes, Culley has not been a QB coach for a long time, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t very capable

Culley is super respected in coaching circles and has the respect of some of the best minds in the game.

He is a technician, and harps on fundamentals and repetition and Xs and Os... he was a savant as a WR coach, all about the details

He brought that 100% to the QB room. I have seen good WR coaches become good QB coaches and vice versa

He is not a WR coach by trade he is a FOOTBALL coach with vast amounts of knowledge

Seems like people don't get this, so I'm reposting this this in the thread. That way you don't have to keep on typing it out.

Great info, and the more people that see it, the smarter we (as fans) will be collectively.

Don't worry, everyone - the house is NOT on fire.

I think most of us liken your posts to his NBA career.

That's a good point. I just think that there needs to be someone on Allen all practice...as long as everyone is speaking the same language and are on the same page, I don't think it would be a problem.

How did you come about this information above?  Do you know the guy personally? Play for him?

How in the hell am I supposed to have faith that he can develop our project 22 year old QB into something resembling a franchise quarterback?

Daboll has at least coached quarterbacks a couple of times in the current millennium...although to meh results. Not to mention is poor record as an NFL OC.

We're all supposed to believe that this is all going to turn out just fine and dandy?! Talk about blind faith...

I was scratching my head about him as a QB coach too. Seems like his position coaching has been most focused on WR

I have never played for coach Culley unfortunately but I grew up on the field and in a press box and have served the game as a player, coach, mentor and scout

I have never heard a bad word about Culley and everyone I speak too loves the guy and his knowledge. I was very excited when he joined the Bills organization.

He is a Reid guy too and he has always spoken very highly of him

Good info, thank you. It is promising that Andy Reid thought enough of him to give him the Assistant Head Coach title in KC.

Good enough for me.  Andy Reid is the best developer of QBs in league history, IMO.

Two words of advice to OBD. - Please outsource.

It's irresponsible If they don't bring anyone in to help this QB Corp out... Tyrod was bad last year, and Peterman was worse... I have trouble believing that Culley is competent enough to guide young talent.
