Bledsoe was a staute in the pocket While Bledsoe was never an athletic mover, he was OK in New England. It was really when he got to Buffalo at age 30, 31 and 32 that his legs visibly started to freeze up. He lost what mobility he had. Bills fans remember a Bledsoe who was not what he had been. You look at his first six years and he never had more than 36 sacks. After that he was rarely below 45. But yeah, he was never as athletic as Allen. Edited April 28, 2018 by Thurman#1

I just hate the weather being part of the reason and Terry P falling in love with the guy.

So your argument is meaningless. And just because they drafted one QB doesnt set a president. Im sure inaccurate QBs is exactly what Whaley was looking for lol. Good lord.

Terrible comparison...Bledsoe was a statue in the pocket and was out of the NFL before his time should have been up when he could no longer move enough to even avoid a rusher. Allen is very athletic...much more like a Big Ben or Carson Wentz mold 1
Happy Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Thursday night, Mayock I believe, compared Josh Allen to Carson Wentz coming out of the draft. Big stature, mobile and athletic, big arm, but lacking consistency in passing. Wentz seemed to get his short comings fixed, so I suspect Allen can do the same.
Rico Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 I’d just like to add that Josh Allen scored a 37 on the Wonderlic while Drew Bledsoe was brain dead.

NewEra Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Bledsoe wasn’t born with feet. He had anchors instead. Allen does not
Ittakestime Posted April 28, 2018 Author Posted April 28, 2018 The slightly athletic comment in from combine scores. Don't think Bledsoe ran the 40, but in the other events Allen was only slightly better

True but they had a ton of designed roll outs as well and took advantage of his freakish ability to produce on the run. He's as naturally gifted as a QB I've seen, it's all about him putting in the work to take his game to the next level. I don't think this staff would have taken him if they had any doubt whatsoever that he's not going to work his butt off . I see Jamarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf jokes but that couldn't be more inaccurate, they were lazy, privileged rookies in toxic locker rooms. this kid is going to be in a wonderful locker room imo and going to work his butt off. I see more Carson Wentz than Leaf or Russell and it's not even close.
formerlyofCtown Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Except that Bledsoe was a statue in the pocket with zero mobility.

If Rodgers relied on running and flinging he wouldn't be in the NFL long. It's okay to pull off a wonder pass now and again but it's no way to make a living in this league. 1
Peace Frog Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 (edited) I see an Aaron (Rodgers)/Brett (Favre)/Carson (Wentz) hybrid QB. There will be some growing pains but we finally have our Franchise QB! Edited April 28, 2018 by Peace Frog

On the spectrum allen is about middle of the pack? even slow guys can take a few steps in the pocket. I don’t envision Allen’s ability to run changing defensive game plans considerably. He will avoid some sacks and create some time here and there which is great but vs a relatively non athletic guy pocket presence will bes bigger issue than 40 time. Edited April 28, 2018 by NoSaint
