Sam darnold is meh baker Mayfield isn't Russell Wilson or drew brees Russell is off the charts scrambler and arm strength drew brees plays in a dome Josh Rosen is a snow flake and will not be able to take a hit at least in Arizona the weather conditions will help him  I wonder what his teammates are thinking Josh Allen is made for the nfl he is used to throwing into tight windows and never complained about the talent around him when training camp starts and people here football's whistling through the air people are gonna freak out his intangibles are off the charts why does he throw passes he shouldn't because he can

So the nubes  currently on WGR are constantly stating Allen can't read defenses. However haven't heard this anywhere else, is there any legitimacy to this?

I think he goes through progressions fairly well

That was my thought as well

I will concede that sometimes he makes the wrong decision but I wouldnt go as far as to say its not something he could improve on

Trent Dilfer and the science guy love this kid. I hope Pegula, Beane and McD follow Dilfer's advice of keeping this kid learning on the sidelines for at least a year. Don't rush him into the field.

I hope this works out.

After the drought and decade of fail we were all seeking a feeling of certainty with a QB pick this high. The other top prospects came from football factories and competed against division 1 talent. I too was disappointed when I heard Allen's name called.

Rosen, Mayfield and Darnold all look like more finished products. They also look like their best football might be in their past, not their future. Not so with Allen. You can see the talent, desire and football IQ in his clips. It's raw and unrefined but its there. He's also the most mobile of the top 4.

Our front office has not suffered through our nearly twenty years of failure. They are not playing it safe. They are going for greatness with the Allen pick and the chance for greatness is there. They aren't beaten down like we are in our masochistic fandom of this team.

I share all the same reservations about accuracy and the technical parts of the game but I also see the seeds of greatness. The other prospects look more like technicians in comparison.

I listened to Beane's interview after the pick and came away greatly impressed. He is not hanging his career on playing it safe. He's going for all the marbles and that's a journey I am going to follow him on.

This from a guy who wanted Lamar Jackson.

History and data show that of the 38 QB drafted between 2010-2017 that have thrown at least 300 NFL passes, NONE of them have exceeded their college success rate in their 1st 4 years in the pros. (1ST 4 years used as that is their rookie contract length). In other words their college numbers are their ceiling.

Now that it has been a few days, I actually like the pick and think Allen will be a franchise quarterback. The kid is humble, has worked his tail off up to the draft, and has said all of the right things. Beane made the right pick hands down.

Allen is tailor made for Buffalo and I love him. I wouldn’t have been ok with Rosen. Allen and Darnold were the only two I wanted. GO BILLS

Weird... don't know why the hell someone merged another thread with this one, left my post as the 1st post, gave me moderation privileges but changed the thread title to the one that merged into it.

Yea I don't understand why they Merged that nonsense into your thread. Deleting the other thread would of been better choice.

I call the other thread nonsense because of the approach the person had. Very combative.

Just popping in to say how nice it's going to be when you and I can both be optimistic about the same QB. Going to miss those 5-page obscure statistical back and forths.

I plan to revisit this thread in about three years when we'll have some perspective on Josh Allen; until then it's just so much guesswork and listening to one's self spew words.
