They don't have enough capital left to move up again after giving up all of their best day 2 picks

We have plenty of capital from later round 3 and on.........and don't forget about next years picks too.

We have capital up the ying yang.

rounds 4-7 isn't getting them back into the second though, and didn't Beane say he was not interested in giving up next years picks to move up? Way too many holes to fill to give up their later picks for one player anyway

CB Josh Jackson for example would be worth trading a 1 next year for.

Wrong!  Next years #1 is likely to be a top 10 pick.

I think that the Bills may trade back up into the 3rd. They can use their 4th, 5th and a 4th next year (they have 2). I think that the Bills wanted to come out of this day with a QB, LB, OL and a WR. I’d expect WR and OL today and a slot corner, RB and BPA tomorrow.

The sexy picks have been made.

I’d like them to stay put and focus on OL.

........or a WR

If there's one thing that's abundantly clear at this point it is that the team will move as necessary for players they like. Trade back for White, Trade up for Zay, Trade up for Dawkins, Trade up for Allen, Trade up for Edmunds.

I'll say this for the new regime, they are certainly making things exciting and when it comes to ever trying to figure out their next move, all bets are off.

Let's pretend that linebacker wasn't a top ten caliber pick and doesn't have the potential to be the best linebacker in the league in a few years.

Let's pretend we would have stayed at 21 picked up a great player and had two picks in the third period or let's pretend we didn't give away the entire second round to draft a project quarterback.

Some of this negativity is insufferable. We got our franchise QB. We got our defensive leader for the next 10 yrs. We have 6 more picks to fill holes on the roster. Life is good.

Edmunds is more than worth 22 and 65, especially given the fact Evans/Vander Esch (both a notch below Edmunds and Smith) were gone before 22.

You can definitely take issue with the fact we could’ve seemingly had Rosen and 53, 56 instead of Allen and a 5th.   However, it seems fans on this board are the only ones obsessed with Josh Rosen.  Cleveland wasn’t.  The Jets weren’t, and they traded away premium picks.  Buffalo traded away premium picks, and not for him.  Arizona took him at 10, AFTER they tried to out-bid us for Allen (as reported by Shefter and others.)

I do.  For me if Buffalo can find a way to get Chark this draft would be a home run.  They need a deep threat on offense and Chark is the best one in the draft.  I think Wr is the target and seems they are willing to go get the guy they like.  He is on my radar but doubt he lasts long tonight.

I'm with you....package some picks, move up and grab this guy.  He's got 1st round talent.

Apparently that was the last asset that they were willing to part with (and rightfully so).

That's giving away the pick. If they traded next year's 1 for a pick in the 30's it's not close to the same thing. Again, it depends on the grade of the player. Let's say they graded CB Josh Jackson as a top 25 player then I can see them trading to get him.

They would only do it for someone they graded as a 1st round talent.

In terms of Edmunds that was a no brainer. He was a consensus top 10 player in this draft at a position of need. We didn’t hear more talk about him here because he wasn’t expected to be on the board at 12!! That was as easy a decision as Beane will have to make.

because when your team is picking #1 you don't have to be.  As Bills fans, we knew it was going to be difficult to get into the top 5 so our pool of QB's to choose from was much narrower.  When we got word that Rosen could drop of course we'd be obsessed with a guy that has shown timing and anticipation, made tight window throws, quick to process the defense most of the time.  Why wouldn't Bills fans be obsessed with that given the QB history the last 20 years?  This is not to predict how any of them will turn out but it's easy to see why Bills fans would be obsessed with Rosen given the conditions and picture being painted.

Asked a different way would you rather have Josh Jackson or Nick Bosa? That’s the type of decision that they have to make. Even if they have Jackson as a top 25 guy they will be chasing guys ranked as high as Bradley Chubb next year. You don’t pass on elite talents for solid starters. Beane knows that. He wasn’t willing to part with next year’s 1st for his QB, he certainly isn’t going to part with it for a 2nd day corner.
