racketmaster Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 (edited) Edmunds jumps out on tape as he is easy to find due to his size and athleticism. This guy is a freak and not even 20 years old yet. A top 10 talent. Edited April 27, 2018 by racketmaster

He has the best range in the draft coverage or sideline to sideline. By molded, he doesn't really know how strong he is yet and it will be enhanced with proper technigue. 6-5 240 Mike who led his team in tackles and sacks who is 19 is a unicorn. I didnt mean like Maybin in the position he plays. I meant young and unpolished and a project for our defensive staff. I do trust McD and Babich to bring the kid along, more so than the coaches we had with Maybin.

Bob Babich seemed to be really excited about him in some of those war room videos. I know people wanted to paint LVE as the next Brian Urlacher because he is a white guy and is similar in size. If you look at the measurables, this guy Edmunds is basically Urlacher in terms of potential and athletic profile. I think that is what Babich and McDermott see. I know I am comparing him to a HOF player, but that is what he could be. Playing him at the SAM would be a waste of his talents and athleticism in my honest opinion. They could play him there early, ala Shaq Thompson to get him acclimated, put I think you plug him in at MIKE right now. Zone defenses require a lot of length. Quarterbacks try to find those holes between the Mike linebacker and the safety, or between the corners and the safeties. That's why Mcdermott values long corners and having a 6-5 MIKE with 35 inch arms and runs a 4.54 makes it more difficult for quarterbacks to fit the ball in those windows. It basically makes them tighter. Edmunds is a bit raw, but the signing of Star Lotulelei is going to protect him and allow him to make a million plays. I love this pick. I honestly hope the Bills still draft another backer like Fred Warner later in the draft as well to go along with Milano and Edmunds. NFL.com profile compares him to Brian Urlacher. I would be thrilled to have that in the middle of the defense 1

TPS Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Imagine this guy roaming the middle in the nickel. Speed, size and length.
YoloinOhio Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 One of these guys is bigger than I expected not sure which lol 1

Magox Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Not sure if this was posted or not but a good balanced take on Edmunds. The short of it, he's got work to do but with the proper molding he could be a generational ALL PRO talent. 1

Maybin's problem was that he was undersized. Edmunds is not.

He is definitely NOT undersized. 4 minutes ago, Magox said: Not sure if this was posted or not but a good balanced take on Edmunds. ToGoGo Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Can't believe we got this guy at 16. Top 5-10 pick. A toss up between him and Smith for the better linebacker. Great pedigree, huge, strong, and rangy. And only 19. This guy has perennial Pro Bowler written all over him. Reminds me of a 2000 Ravens kind of player (like Peter Boulware).

I have a lot of confidence in McDermott to develop this kid, and Bob Babich is among the best linebacker coaches in the NFL (IMO). So I have a lot of faith that this kid will get the proper coaching. I remember when Carolina picked Keuchley. There were some questions and quite a few mixed reviews about that pick at the time, and that turned out pretty damn good.

I have complete faith that this team, especially on the defensive side of the ball will be able to coach him up to realize his full potential. It's just a matter of whether or not the kid is hungry to learn because if he does, he will not only be a probowler but a generational ALL PRO talent that will lead this defense over the next decade. 1
wppete Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 This pick is incredible for us. We just got our all pro middle linebacker for years. He can also rush the passer off the edge and only 19. Crazy! McBean did an amazing job yesterday. 1 1

Canadian Bills Fan Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Can LB's wear jersey numbers in the 40's? Can he wear his same number?
