Do the Bills now have the upper hand in trade negotiations?

With the plethora of “good” QBs available this year, coupled with the number of willing trade partners from 2-6. It almost seems like the teams at the top are now competing to trade down to acquire Buffalo’s picks. Buffalo can conceivably stand pat at 12 and keep their other first. All That considered, this should be as favorable a year as possible for a QB trade up.

Except that several teams are looking to move up for a QB.

I wouldn't characterize it that way. They still have something we want, and there are presumably others looking to move up.

We’re still at their mercy since they can stay put whereas we cannot. And ARZ is likely wanting we want too

I would say so.  There are a higher quantity of teams that are in the top 8 that are wanting to trade down than teams trying to trade up.  And when you consider that the Bills have the most draft capital it puts them in an enviable position if you are seeking a franchise qb

This is how negotiations go.  You say you're willing to trade, but ask for the moon. Those interested claim they have other partners.  Someone buckles.

I’d say it’s as favorable a market to trade up for a 1st round QB that I can remember.  Doesn’t mean Bills aren’t gonna have to pay up but you probably have at least 3 QB’s as highly rated as Trubisky and you could realistically get one at 6 with a team actively trying to trade down.

Yes but most dont have the necessary ammo to make it worthwhile for the other teams

If the Broncos wanted to get to 2 like it's been reported earlier, they don't need to give up nearly as much as Buffalo. Heck, even the Browns could consider moving 4 to 2 to get both their guys.

I wouldn’t say the upper hand but I’d say they have the best hand for teams looking to trade up.

 

Of the teams looking to trade up only Miami has a lower pick and its only one spot lower. All the teams can offer a 1st but only we can offer one this year. All the teams can offer a second but we can offer two. Unless other teams are looking to trade roster players we should be able to put together the best package. It’s really just a matter of if the Bills decision makers believe in the players available to make the deal.

Many teams looking to move down, all would like a pice of what the Bills have to offer. Will the right team be willing, though? That's the question. The Bills have the most loot, and most other teams looking to move up don't have a signicantly better 1st round pick to give .

Absolutely.  Bills are in a great position right now.

They have enough to make it happen, imo.

Bills have advantage over other teams looking to trade up as they can offer 2 firsts... they don't have much of any advantage in getting a better (less expensive) deal to get into the top five.  It all has to add up on the draft value chart and to get to #2 may even have to pay a premium.  The other teams can't get there as easily as they don't have the draft capital we have.

Definitely.  NYG want to trade down pretty badly, but so do Cleveland and Denver, so their leverage is severely limited.

Yeah thats true but I am talking about teams like Miami, Arizona etc that have been reported to be looking to move up...teams moving around in the top 5 really dont matter much...its teams outside there that can hurt us

if im the bills, i try to trade next years 1 instead of this years #22.  so move up using 12, one of the 2nd rounders,  and next years 1. 

 

i *think* the giants should go for that, because presumably, we are starting a rookie QB and so our 1st next year is a high pick.   So the giants pass on a QB and stay w Eli.  if they are right, then they get extra guys to put around him.  if they are wrong, they have presumably 2 high 1st round picks next year to get his replacement.
