Let's talk baseball. You want to bring up a player who has gone thu the system. Has batted close to 300 at A ball, then AA ball and the then has proven that he can hit at triple A or high AA ball against pitchers who have several pitches (curve, change, splitter, sinker and fastball and good placement). Then he can get some cups of coffee. You don't bring up a guy who smoked short-season A ball to the big leagues as a rule 5 guy. Or a guy who spent 2 years at a community college and never ever won against top 50 teams (or high AA or AAA ball). This isn't rocket science. The most important question is “can you get it in the end zone?” I think a lot of these guys can.
