CommonCents Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Can’t really give people crap for making threads and then make a thread about Ereck Flowers. 5 8
BuffaloRush Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 One of John Butler’s worst first round picks ever. Can’t believe he made the transition to OT and that he’s still in the league. It’s a miracle teams would want to trade for him 1 4
MrEpsYtown Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Maybe they want us to take him off their hands as part of a trade up? He's been terrible at LT, so needs to be a RT. He is better than Mills though.

Blokestradamus Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 The man is a walking disaster. I never thought I'd want to stan for Jordan Mills but I might in this case. 2
4thandGoal Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 we dont need more disasters on our O-Line-- we have enough of them 1

Let's do arithmetic. You subtract a player from the Giants and they get better. You add a player to the Bills and they get worse. Depending on one's perspective it is either addition by subtraction or subtraction by addition. No thank you.

I heard Beane’s press conference and he seemed ready to roll with the unit they currently have. I don’t see any high picks going for OL this draft 1

I might need to dig through my big boards from the past few years to see how bad of a reach I had Flowers as a first-round pick. I know that Germain Ifedi is the clubhouse leader but Flowers might be in the top 5 worst 1st round picks in the last half-dozen years.

The Giants needed a tackle, reached, and got what they deserved. 1

The Flowers selection is a demonstration of a team desperately reaching for a need. I don't subscribe to the rigid rule of staying true to your board without regard to need. But you have to have some common sense and balance when doing so. As you noted before Mills might be an average player at best but he is functional and reasonably priced.
H2o Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Absolutely not. The guy is one of the worst OT's in the league. I don't even know if a switch to the interior would benefit him with the technique flaws in his game.
Rigotz Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 I would be fine with him being a bad Tackle and still having upside ... but he's also a horrible locker room guy and that's obviously not something we'd be interested in, given the new regime.
QuoteTheRaven83 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Living in Giants country, the dude sucks. That's all. 1

Given the dearth of quality OL play in the league some team will take a flyer on him as a reclamation project for a late round pick.
aristocrat Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 From what I heard from giants fans was he was solid on the right side but a nightmare on the left. If we trade up with them I wouldn’t mind at least having him back as depth

For a late round pick, maybe. Living in NYC area, listening to WFAN, I've never heard anything positive about him--absolute disaster area!
