But Baltimore needed a QB and Boller was the 3rd best QB available. They took a shot and it didn’t work 1

Expand IMO, it's not that they didn't notice those flaws on film. It's that they thought they could fix them. Obviously, you have to pick and choose what you think you can get away with. You all have to be confident in your ability to develop players to some extent. IIRC, the only guy who was viewed as a sure-fire pick that year was Palmer.
