Jammer8732 Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 According to NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah, personnel executives he has spoken with believe Rosen could potentially fall out of the top 10 due to injury concerns. Jeremiah also said he has heard three quarterbacks will likely come off the board in the first five picks with USC's Sam Darnold, Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield and Wyoming's Josh Allen standing out as the top possibilities. Jeremiah pointed out that a shoulder injury cost Rosen several games in 2016 and that he suffered two concussions last season.
CaptnCoke11 Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 We shall see. Cant wait till Thursday so all this comes to an end. This place is almost unbearable 1 1
purple haze Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 (edited) Not surprising. It is a concern bc he is a pocket passer. He's not going to avoid danger like a Jackson, Darnold, Mayfield or Allen. If the Bills picked him they better draft offensive lineman with other picks because it will be essential for Rosen Moreso than any other QB. Edited April 22, 2018 by purple haze 1

FearLess Price Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 I doubt he would drop passed 10. Someone will take a shot.

If he is being touted as a better prospect I see this as a GM trying to get a huge bargain.

He's not a mobile QB by any means, but he is not a statue either. He is also very good at moving inside the pocket and will only get better. I believe the NFL also has more rules in place to protect QBs than college does. Remember, Mayfield also had 2 concussions in college and they were a direct result of the way he plays. Like you said, build a good o line around Rosen and you limit that risk (which, as you also said, will have to be a priority). Where as with Mayfield's style of play, as with many mobile QBs who like to play outside the pocket, it will be hard to just build a good o line around them to limit injury risk. We seen young 2 mobile QBs (who are just at the start of their careers) go down with injury just this season alone - Wentz and Watson. I am not saying that Rosen's injuries are not a concern. They are. Just not enough to scare me off. I see just as much, or more, injury risk in QBs like Mayfield, Jackson etc due to their play styles.
NewEra Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 The pats or cards would trade up to 10 and snag him if he falls that far imo

Jammer8732 Posted April 23, 2018 Author Posted April 23, 2018 I’m not down on him either, I just don’t think we need to give up the farm for him. Waaay too many needs.

Not the way too many needs argument. What does it matter if you do not have the most important position in professional sports settled? Get the franchise QB! 4

I've said all along Rosen's injury history and somewhat frail nature will be his greatest hurdle. We would literally have to spend the rest of the draft on olineman. And trust me when I say he has the least mobility of this entire class....

Back in the Jim Kelly days, we had one of the best O lines in the league. Bad O line + Rookie QB = top 5 pick again next year. 1

Well, if this is true and the worst is a small jump to 10 to get him then two picks had better be OL related and probably better pick up a RB as insurance in case McCoy goes down.
