There is probably some hidden (or not hidden) agenda regarding anti communist or pro socialist or anti capitalist or some other socio-political message involved with many of the books. "Dystopian." Providing that correction not to be a jerk, but merely as an educational opportunity. To be a jerk, I'll point out that you should have learned that in junior or senior high. But that's more a criticism of the educational system than you personally.
Acantha
By far my two favorite books as a kid were Where the Red Fern Grows and Enders Game. I still re-read them every few years.

I always thought there was only one book, Wikipedia tells me there are four. I wonder if the other three will be as enjoyable 50 years later? Thanked! Wasn't a MSC series fan, my science interests only held for math and chem, wound up a forensic accountant (taking down and defending the Bugs Meany's of the $$$ world)

row_33
Sick at home at the age of 10 I read most of a Hitchcock anthology of suspense stories still have nightmares 40 years later of being roasted alive for a cannibal picnic and trying to swim across a lake before a huge snail devours me (didn't make it) and a bet for a Cadillac with my pinky finger the wager that I can't get my lighter to work 10 times in a row

This book cover reminded me of another writer, I had to google it to get his name right... Troy Nesbit. Read all of his books and also Franklin Dixon was a writer in the same style.

I looked up the spelling when I typed in that response, and I still misspelled it. They say the legs are the first things to go; I wonder how far down the list simple observations like proper spelling would be. Or maybe... I’m an idiot.
