Another season with a bottom ranked offense with Tyrod Taylor is best?

At least we'll have a bottom ranked offense with more upside.

Next year is the year we fix the offense. Tons of cap. We still have a full draft. This is the year the defense becomes strong.

Watching Mayfield and Haley throw temper tantrums as Taylor’s pitching another 80 yard passing day is must see tv ?.

Remember when Taylor had Watkins and Woods, both on the field, and made the probowl  in 14 games?  Now watch with Landry and Gordon and promise me we will get better QB production in either of the next two seasons.

I'd take 3 pt games in a season over 10+ down 10+ with 2 INT's

He didn’t throw that many INTs, but he didn’t throw that TDs or even first downs.

Won’t be able to.    He will get benched by week 5.

Josh Allen is the king now.      Tyrod Shmyrod.    Who cares.

not hard to be better than the 28th ranked passing attack. so i would say yes, yes we will.

Someone tell me how this "process" is different than Marrone with Schwartz/Pettine  and Hackett in 2014/15?  Is Daboll better than Hackett?  We certainly don't have anywhere near the talent.  How long until the "rebuild" starts yielding results.  Bring in a different QB?  I was on board with that.  That said I we had 7 picks in the first 3 rounds and ended up with 3 players one of them being a QB who by all accounts needs work with accuracy and reading defenses.  I stopped drinking the kool aid on coaches with "processes" a long time ago.  A good coach comes in and changes the offense/defense from playing bad to playing well.  You stop the other team from scoring and you yourself score more.  You acquire more talent to do so.  This idea that one player is the absolute beginning and end of it all is absurd.  I will certainly hope for Allen's success because at this point the alternative is another 2/3 years in the crapper and most likely another regime change.

You don't consider making the playoffs and ending a 17-year drought in year one "results"?

I don't think throwing int means a whole lot. It's when they are thrown that matters. If you find a QB that goes for 25/15 TD/int for 15 years he is a HOF

History suggests  that some of the greatest QB threw lots and lots of ints but were able to overcome them. Plenty of HOF in this list

I don't think that 25/15 TD/Int for 15 years number is quite reflective of why these guys are in the HOF**.

For example, Troy Aikman isn't in the HOF because he threw 165 TD and 141 INT in his 12 year career.  He's there because of the years he threw 16 TD to 7 INT and won Superbowls.  His INT numbers are raised by his 3 initial seasons when he was learning the game, and his final season before he retired, and poor seasons in between in which his team won on D or struggled.

Yes, where and when an INT is thrown does affect its impact on the game's outcome, but I don't think it can really be argued INTs don't mean a whole lot.  Turnover ratio is pretty well established as one of the key factors linked to game outcome.

(**note also many of the so-called "modern era" QB in the HOF played before the league evolved into the pass-centric game it is today - Otto Graham, Sonny Jurgensen, Bobby Layne, YA Tittle Norm Van Brocklin etc - their stats may not reflect today's needs)

This place is so sensitive lately. Not stuck in the past guys. It's an internet message board, isn't it the point to debate our beloved teams decision making process on the forum? I get Taylor discussions have been going on for months. All this thread is about is if you have no talent on offense who gives you the best chance at winning now? I think that's an interesting topic. I guess it angers people to even discuss it? Yeesh. Thank you for those that added something to the conversation.

I prefer QB's who can see the middle of the field, throw it to guys who are wide open and throw for more than 100 yards a game.   Will Allen be that guy?   Who knows but we definitively know that Tyrod wasn't.

I definitely think the Bills will throw the ball a lot more regardless of who plays QB.  None of them seem to lack confidence in pulling the trigger, for better or for worse.

Regarding your first statement above, can you try that again in simple English?

Regarding your second, you must have hated Jim Kelly, he averaged over 1 interception a game throughout his career.  Only one season was his INT total less than 10; specifically, Kelly compared to Taylor on INT% was 3.7% vs. 1.4%, respectively. Interceptions are part of the game when your quarterback, you know, throws downfield.

It's amusing to see all these fans think this team is going to make a jump from last year and improve. Not happening!!! This team is in rebuild mode and won't be ready to play for championships any sooner than 2019. Why would you pay Tyrod Taylor all that money just to go 7-9/8-8 like they always do? Saving the money and letting this process work is the right move. Buffalo is finally out of cap hell next year yet so many of you want to complain. If any of you think any of these moves made in the last 12 months are to win now....you don't get it.

Really is a great summation here. The Bills are taking a step back to hopefully take 2 steps forward. This year was about clearing the cap (check) and finding a franchise QB (potentially check). The Bills have already been successful in achieving their goals.

This year will hopefully be about Allen and some other young players developing. Next offseason they load up. Get a top end pass rusher in the draft, add an OT, #1 WR, TE, LB, a young RB and get ready to take the next step.

Nobody wins based on yardage and that is the cry of the move on from Tyrod crowd.  Hey you won.  Now we just need results.  We obviously did this to score points so when Allen puts up 24 plus ppg two seasons in a row I'll call the whole thing a success.  That seems fair enough.  I've even hoping he does.  I'm just being honest saying that there is a huge risk involved.  I think that is also fair.

He made the Pro Bowl as a 3rd alternate.  Lets be a bit honest.

What Foxx posted is fact. 3 seasons in a row we saw the passing attack in the bottom 6 in the league.

No and neither do you.  Statistically  he faced worse down and distance than most QB's and still produced.  That is a fact.  I'm not arguing about this all day.  It's water under the bridge.  I'm also not drinking the kool aid.  We brought a new guy in who's been labeled by pro scouts a big armed project and he's being teamed up with a decimated OL and an OC with a less than stellar track record.  It's not hard to imagine things going bad.
