row_33 Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Great entertainer I read that he was offered an ownership interest when Jr took it big, but turned it down to keep his salaried position. Potentially worth a lot of money lost, but he got out when he wanted to and railed against the product in his later days.
CowgirlsFan Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Condolences to his family, his friends and his fans.
Marv's Neighbor Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 RIP! I remember him at the Aud, early 60's. I believe he sometimes teamed with Ilio DePaolo. That was the real deal! Couldn't believe he eventually got involved with WWF, which I always viewed as fake wrestling.

sherpa Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 From a wrestling magazine in the 60's, and I am doing this from memory. "Few who witnessed it will forget Bruno Sammartino picking up and throwing 400 pound Haystacks Calhoun out of the ring." Different time.
Rico Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 RIP Bruno. Greatest rassler ever, but zero mic skills, so I was never really a fan.

I was only a wrestling fan in the early 70s. My favorite was Ladd...................And, I used to get some of the magazines, and they'd always feature Bruno. But, I never saw him on TV and I never saw him at the bouts I would go to (sometimes taken by Ilio Dipaolo because I was friends with his daughter)..............We got Haystacks, Ernie, Bobo, all them but I never saw Bruno.
