CommonCents Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 This year feels different so my brother, mother, and nephew are coming over and we are doing a mini draft party. We talked about it this weekend and if the fireworks do go down we want to be together for it. It's an 8 o'clock start so taking the 27th off is a must. Now for some food ideas! 1
EmotionallyUnstable Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Great question. It is a long event. Are you planning to eat ahead of time, snack throughout or both? My family/friends usually do an earlier message followed with lots of football related apps. Although, this year a number of people in the area spoke of meeting up, possibly at Santoras on Transit.
Charlottebillsfan2 Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I'm going wings and beers, lots and lots of both! 2

We too are getting together (with our Bills group in New Orleans). The draft will be going on at the same time as Pelicans/Blazers game 6 so we will have 2 TVs working and crawfish boiling. Friday we will be going to the Zurich Classic during the day and a bar after for rounds 2 & 3. In in terms of food, I think that you want to go on the easy side with the draft being later. You aren’t going to want to be stuck with a messy kitchen at 10:30 at night. I’d probably go with a couple of dips and maybe pulled pork or something? It’s minimal work and will allow you to focus on the draft.

Jay_Fixit Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I’ll watch the draft from my couch, and I’ll probably have dinner at some point.
corta765 Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 (edited) We started doing a party in 2015 at my brother in laws with just my wife and I. It was funny because the girls were like when do we draft in the 1st round about half way through and we both looked at the same time and said "we don't we traded it last year for Sammy". Their faces were priceless. Anyway same place but more excitement and if we get Rosen/Darnold I am probably not remembering the rest of the night due to adult beverages. Oh pizza and wings is a must with bison dip and chips. Edited April 17, 2018 by corta765
co_springs_billsfan Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I like the idea of a nice super bowl style spread, but we are probably having a baby in the next week so just watching the draft will be an accomplishment this year 1

Kirby Jackson Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Think that I have dropped this in here before but it is one of my favorite sandwiches ever. It’s a decent amount of prep but not bad on the cleanup. It is FANTASTIC. This guy is a James Beard winning chef: https://www.seattletimes.com/life/food-drink/recipe-roast-pork-dip/
Seanbillsfan2206 Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I’m going to get drunk and stick my dick in some mashed potatoes. But that’s tonight. For the draft I’m going to watch it at Santoras in Buffalo somewhere 1

All my favorite dishes are heavy and don't mesh well with a night time event. Sliders and dips sounds like a good gamplan.

BuffaloBillyG Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I though the plan was that everyone was meeting at @Derby Dan house.
