Disadvatages of Kerley-

Coming off suspension, Getting older in years, should not be relied upon as top 3 option.

Advantages of Kerley-

Return Skills, Some success at slot in the past, does not think he is lizard.

Agreed and makes the WR corp not as bad now. Figure something like Benjamin, Jones, Kerley, Holmes, Streater, & Reilly. If they can draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd the QB may have something to throw to haha.

that right there might be the worst wr corp in the NFL....

Actually I think Kerley would do very well as the 3rd option guy

OMG, did not see that coming.   "Lizard Belief Status" must now be exampled as a WR criterion.  Too true.

Kerley is a slot receiver type.  He's pretty small and lacks speed.  He's not going to win may foot races on deep routes, but he's very quick and can get separation underneath.

A receiver who can get separation is really what our WRs were lacking.

Haha they are not good but it wouldn't be historically bad which they were pacing at.

I really thought this was an excellent signing especially considering what is available right now.....Kerley is very underrated.

I agree, I also remember him tearing us up a couple games when w/ the Jets

.....Kerley was suspended for 4 games due to a PED violation.[17] He was released by the Jets on December 18, 2017 after being reinstated from suspension.[18]

This is good - means he does not count toward comp pick formula and does not help the Jest.

I suspect he's in good company as he gets "older in years."

Decent move to fill up that camp roster. Let's see what he's got.

Right now he's probably #2 on the depth/talent chart and #1 in our hearts. :)

I didn't think much of Kerley until I seen him play in San Fran.  I was impressed when I would watch him.  Always seemed to find the space and had good hands.

IMO, it is a nice signing.  Him or Clay will end up with a spot, probably not both.

I believe he served his suspension prior to being released by the Jets last season

If the other Beane (Billy of Moneyball fame) were an NFL GM, he'd probably say "target players coming off PED suspensions."  They maintain some of the residual effects of the PEDs well after the suspension ends.
