The Browns have not interviewed or set up visits with either Barkley/Chubb that tells me we are going QB #1 (Darnold) and either Ward or a trade down with #4 ... The Giants can stay at 2 or trade down with Denver for #5 and still get Barkley ...

Forget #2.  Focus on 4.  Sell the Browns on the need for a franchise LT (McGlinchey) to protect their recently-drafted franchise QB.

Double edged sword.  We don’t want them to take a QB, but we also don’t want them to love someone so much they won’t trade back.

Barkley is worth the early pick. Whether Browns take  him at one and still get their QB or Ginats think Eli can carry them and want to win now..

He is going to make any team better immediately

The giants have to sell that they LOVE someone. And preferably someone that would be available a couple picks back.

Im sure they don’t mind taking him high but calling him near perfect screams “up those offers”

I think we'll trade up to #4 and I expect both Rosen and Darnold to still be available.

The Giants have quite a decision ahead of them.  It's either Barkley or Chubb.

this fuels the other thread about the Bills, Browns, and Giants doing a 3 way deal where Giants don’t drop past 4 so they don’t lose out on the chance to draft Barkley

Oh, so the price of the #2 pick just went up again with this declaration?

Fine by me.  That’s means the giants won’t take a QB.  If the browns take Allen it would almost assure us of landing Darnold, Mayfield or Rosen.  Beane wouldn’t let that opportunity to pass him by.  He could then just trade to 4-7 and get one of the best 3 QBs in the draft.  Worst case scenario for the Bills would be if the Giants loved a or a couple of the QBs. The love for Saquon is nothing but good for the Bills imo.  Only thing that would make it difficult is if McBeane is only interested in 2 QBs, which I hope isn’t the case.
