row_33
During some years of debilitating illness I’d fall asleep with the radio on and his show would come on hours later and creep me out as I woke up
US Egg
Mr. Bell helped me through many late night shifts in the 90's - 2000's. Be so engrossed listening, then realize I wasn't paying attention to my job. Nobody ever got hurt. R.I.P. Art.
Marv's Neighbor
Yeah, me too! I was usually long gone by midnight but when I did have to stay, I usually listened. He was entertaining at times but a lot of hiss shows were just too far out to bother with.
Ridgewaycynic2013
Just like most of the sports call in shows, it's the callers (Clem from Arkansas) that make or break the program. I guess that holds true on internet discussion boards, too. Edited April 14, 2018 by Ridgewaycynic2013

Best Player Available
Art was best to me and some road buddy's late at night. With lunatic callers on. What a great way to laugh, on the road in Arizona or anywhere out West driving with Art on the airwave and his theorists . RIP.

This also implies that you didn't often listen to his guest hosts. Some of them were pretty good though.

Actually, shockingly I'm sure, I don't have a lot of experience with Bell. He was before my time a bit, I rarely listen to Coast to Coast but when I did it was post-Bell. I've heard some of his greatest hits on YouTube and such, but that's about it. I respect his hustle though, and contribution to the entertainment world.
