That makes sense, especially if you’re liberal. Gotcha. ? By the way — what happened to the Grachi? Learn the lesson! I’m not sure if the pedo rumors were true. Romans were never afraid to revise history to meet their political needs. And he did do many good things. But yeah, he went off the deep end. I didn’t google and I don’t remember it well. I remember thinking Libby did something wrong but it was a political witch hunt. I thought he went to prison though. Didn’t know that. Within days after Libby was indicted it became apparent that it wasn't him that leaked the identity of a CIA person named Valerie Plame but it was Richard Armitage, Deputy Secretary of State. The case against Libby continued though and he was eventually caught in the process crime of getting a date wrong.

I think I was in Iraq when this was playing out which is why I didn’t follow it and don’t remember the specifics. Thank you for the info.

As usual, the only thing Scooter did wrong was lying under oath when he had no reason to. Five counts of perjury, obstruction of justice, and making false statements, for telling two reporters "I know Wilson's wife worked for the CIA," then telling the FBI "I told the reporters I didn't know Wilson's wife worked for the CIA." Two and a half years in prison, $250,000 fine, and two years probation. For that. The pardon is probably over-the-top, but I think the commutation was just. It's actually funny - it reads like a cross between a legal document and a note passed in a third-grade lunchroom. Mall I remember is Libby went to jail because liberals hated Bush and so Libby went to jail. He wasn’t the guy they wanted, but he was all they could get so they took it. But again, I’m pretty sure I was out of country when this went down and I don’t remember the fiasco well....... Yes, I'm sure Trump understands what the issues were in the case and thinks old Scooter was wronged by the mean old justice system. Trump pardons ‘Scooter’ Libby, Cheney’s former chief of staff Lewis “Scooter” Libby, a former chief of staff to Vice President Richard B. Cheney was convicted in 2007 of perjury and obstruction of justice in connection with the leak of a CIA officer’s identity. His sentence was commuted by President George W. Bush. Although Libby was spared jail time, he was not pardoned. whoopee just farted
