Buddy Hix Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 There is a 50/50 shot the top four guys bust based on past high QB picks. Jackson isn’t nearly as risky a pick as the others IMO.
K D Posted April 13, 2018 Author Posted April 13, 2018 Is anyone else surprised that the least likely to bust is Mayfield?
#34fan Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I put Josh Allen, but I think Mayfail is just as likely to fizzle like a dud firecracker.

H2o Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I got Jackson, but Allen is a close 2nd. I think the NFL game is going to be too fast for Jackson mentally. LJ can still be molded into something else because of his athletic ability if need be though.

dpberr Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 (edited) Josh Allen and it's not even close IMO. Can't "teach" accuracy. He's the Jeff George of the 21st Century NFL. Rosen would be second. IMO he's a younger Jay Cutler. Lots of talent but he's no fighter. He'll be great until he gets the proverbial punch in the face. Jackson would be third, the Vince Young of the modern age. His athleticism is elite in the college game and he used it brilliantly, but in the NFL, everybody is an elite athlete and his #1 advantage is erased. Edited April 13, 2018 by dpberr
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 (edited) I voted for Allen, probably should have picked Jackson. Anyway, seems to be pretty clear what the opinion of this board is. One of the 2 is viewed as the likely bust. The rest of the QBs people seem pretty comfortable with. And, if Thurmanator hadn't voted 6 times for Rosen his % would be 0%. His athleticism is still top tier, even in the NFL, and he would still have an advantage. The gap just isn't as wide.
Call_Of_Ktulu Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 (edited) In 2017 I wanted Deshaun Watson really bad. In 2018 I want nothing to do with Lamar Jackson. He has trouble reading defense's, he has poor accuracy, his legs look like they will snap like twigs. He doesn't put touch on his passes, seems to throw bullet passes all over the field even to guys in the flat. JaMarcus Russell had this same problem through college and the pro's and all his WR's had lots of dropped balls. I think NFL defense's are going to be too much for Jackson to handle. As sure as I am that Watson will be a good QB I have the exact opposite feeling about Jackson. Edited April 13, 2018 by Call_Of_Ktulu 1
Norcalbillsfan Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Obviously it depends on where they go, but I feel if Lamar gets on the wrong team, gets asked to make magic with his feet too much he will get injured quickly and fizzle out. I get a feeling from Rosen kinda like tannehill or Cutler, not busts but not the answer either.

BuffaloMatt Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Is it possible they all bust? I'm so damn negative. I don't want to use up all our draft capital on Christian Ponder 2.0.
Rockinon Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 I chose Josh Allen but then again, I thought Roethlisberger was going to be a bust too. when he came out of college.
mead107 Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Not the Bills problem. They take Riley Ferguson in the second
DrDawkinstein Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 I went Jackson, just because I think he'll be done with an ACL tear within 3 years.
Reks Ryan Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I voted J. Allen. Although I think his chances of success are slightly higher than Lamar Jackson. There are higher expectations for Allen and he will be a higher pick, so bigger bust potential.
17 Josh Allen Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 I voted for Rosen he will surely bust big time.
