Foreigner Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 If anyone has positives about this, I want to be all in.
FluffHead Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 (edited) They billieve they can mold Clay into a rock solid player Edited April 11, 2018 by FluffHead 2 1
Warren Zevon Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 (edited) 1. He's fast 2. They traded an asset for him in the past so signing him as a UFA should not be a shock 3. Now you're all in Edited April 11, 2018 by garybusey

Captain Murica Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Fast, can play WR along with being a KR/PR, and his cap hit is $720,000. 5th to 6th WR option.
Fadingpain Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 The simple fact is Clay is quite malleable and can be molded into a variety of shapes to fit the team's needs. Some say he's a little soft now, but with time he will firm up nicely into a rock hard player. 2
Wsam4031 Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 so we traded Seymour for him, who now starts in Carolina, cut him he went back to Carolina and then we sign as a free agent. He was garbage last time he was here and is still garbage now 2
Royale with Cheese Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 He's a depth player even if he makes the team.

thebandit27 Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 He's the 2018 version of Brandon Tate: a guy that can be a full-time kick returner and play some snaps at WR in the event of injury Next question please.

Money at that amount is pretty much interchangeable against the cap and Clay might not even make the Top 51, and if he did it would be a difference of MAXIMUM 200k. He's a fast player who can return kicks and play special teams, and there's a good chance he doesn't make the team. Can't see any reason to particularly complain about this move. 1
billieve420 Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 My only guess is that he was brought back for mainly special team purposes. He is not that fast, I believe he timed in the 4.5 range so maybe they want him for kick or punt return purposes to replace Tate.
Maine-iac Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 ...... because they couldn't throw Thompson a bone. I'll be surprised if Clay is on the roster for more than a couple games let alone all 16.

Direhard Fan Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Did you say they are going to mold him into a rock star? What's that all about? Just asking. Maybe I missed something but 4.5 isn't a rock star.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 ‘Cause it’s on like a mofo?? ? 1
BuffaloBillyG Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Don't know why he was signed initially, but we do have an open position at LG. Maybe he can pack on a couple hundred pounds. He's short, so Baker Mayfield should be able to see over him. Anyone know his arm length?
