Let’s be real guys...

He was talking about the Alcoholics Hall of Fame ?

love ya Ritchie, have fun in your retirement

Nah, can't make that Hall without dying first, Ritchie is a lightweight compared to those people.

his career grades out fairly evenly across his time in the league.

Unfortunately, that grade is “good” not “great”

and ignores some early troubles where he singlehandedly lost games

Ritchie finished his odd retirement post with I just want to be in the Hall of Fame.

Is he over valuing himself or does he belong in the Hall ?

Will his past keep him out ?

BB...odds are,he was joking.

This makes me think the guy has CTS or something.

Tweeting a few days ago about being pumped for the season, then firing his agent on twitter, then saying his kidneys and liver are shutting down from stress (wha?), and talking about the HOF.

It's like someone swiped our beloved #68 and replaced him with a malfunctioning clone.   Personally I think he knows he has one year left and sees all the crazy money being paid out with these huge deals and looks at his $6M as half of what a pro bowl guard is worth.   So he fires his agent, says he's retiring, and waits to see what the counter offer is for Richie.   I say smart move.  Squeeze out a couple more mil before you go.

If that is what he is after then he doesn't fit the culture the Bills are looking for, let him go with a fond farewell.

Jeepers, MB, I didn't even think about Joe D because he was already in.

So true...took FOREVER for one of the greats to get in.

Also, what about that Green Bay Packer that just got in this year after sitting forever?!

Not even close. A guard probably needs at least 6-7 pro bowl seasons, with 3 of them being All-Pro, to get consideration for Canton.

his best years were with Buffalo but his career in general really doesn't scream HOF IMO
