That was part of reason for cutting punter. It gets less attention when you put user on ignore and then others do not see when you do not quote. How? He's under contract for 2018. He becomes a free agent next year, when the Raiders free up about $75m in cap space. It's not about this year, but next that matters. He's under contract with the Raiders this year under the 5th year option. He wouldn't hit free agency until 2019, when the Raiders will have about $75m in cap space available.
thebandit27 Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 He's not going anywhere. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000925977/article/raiders-gm-team-communicating-with-khalil-mack-over-contract
maryland-bills-fan Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 (edited) He may be wanting to get another multi-year contract in place for 2018-2019. He may be worried about being injured this next year and then having to live off just the millions he already has been paid. If he does another 5 year contract, he will be getting money when he is 9 years into the league. Older baseball players do this type of move. Edited April 12, 2018 by maryland-bills-fan
