Domdab99 Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 (edited) I belong to another forum with lots of so-called football experts - some of whom actually work as draft prognosticators... we had a two round mock with my picking the Bills. I am not a draft expert lol. I had a deal in place with the Giants' GM to trade up for no. 2 for 12, 22, 53, 96, and next year's 2nd. It was more than I really wanted to give up, but I thought I'd give it a shot to get Rosen and see what we can pick it with 56. But then, the Browns picked Rosen No. 1! First three picks went: 1. Cleveland Browns Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA 2. New York Giants Sam Darnold, QB, USC 3. New York Jets from Indianapolis Colts Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma During these picks, I was in touch with the Browns' GM, trying to make a deal for 4 and Mayfield...but once the Jets picked Mayfield, I was done. I figured we'd stick with our picks, maybe draft Lamar Jackson, and go from there. But the Browns' GM was really aggressive, and said he wanted more picks. I told him the only guy I thought that was really trading up for was Rosen, so I was out. But then he made me this offer: Josh Rosen and a 2019 4th round pick to the Buffalo Bills for: 2018 1st round pick (12) 2018 2nd round pick (56) 2019 1st round pick 2019 2nd round pick So I had to say yes. So the Bills traded for the No. 1 pick - Josh Rosen. The Bowns picked Lamar Jackson at 4. Then these were the picks: 5. Denver Broncos Quenton Nelson, G, Notre Dame 6. Indianapolis Colts from New York Jets Bradley Chubb, EDGE, NC State 7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State 8. Chicago Bears Minkah Fitzpatrick, CB, Alabama 9. San Francisco 49ers Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State 10. Oakland Raiders Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia 11. Miami Dolphins Connor Williams, OT, Texas 12. Cleveland Browns from Buffalo Bills (from Bengals) Josh Jackson, CB, Iowa 13. Washington Redskins Derwin James, S, Florida State 14. Green Bay Packers Jaire Alexander, CB, Louisville 15. Arizona Cardinals Tremaine Edmunds, LB, Virginia Tech 16. Baltimore Ravens Dallas Goedert, TE, South Dakota State 17. Los Angeles Chargers Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame 18. Seattle Seahawks Isaiah Wynn, G/T, Georgia 19. Dallas Cowboys Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU 20. Detroit Lions Vita Vea, DT, Washington 21. Cincinnati Bengals from Buffalo Bills Leighton Vander Esch, LB, Boise State I was zeroing in on Vander Esch for the pick at 22, and was really disappointed that I got sniped by the Bengals. As I thought there wasn't another LB worth picking this high, I went with who I thought was one of the best player available and a need: WR James Washington, Oklahoma Very few receivers were as productive as Washington has been over the past few years. He's usually ranked as the 2nd or third best receiver prospect, and his consistency and outside speed is what the Bills need. I figured we got Rosen, let's get him a top-flight target! It was a tough decision, as I thought Rashaan Evans here would've been a decent pick, too. As would just about everyone picked in the rest of the first round: 23. Los Angeles Rams Harold Landry, EDGE, Boston College 24. Carolina Panthers Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama 25. Tennessee Titans Equanimeous St. Brown, WR, Notre Dame 26. Atlanta Falcons Maurice Hurst, DL, Michigan 27. New Orleans Saints D.J. Moore, WR, Maryland 28. Pittsburgh Steelers Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama 29. Jacksonville Jaguars Will Hernandez, G, UTEP 30. Minnesota Vikings Marcus Davenport, EDGE, UTSA 31. New England Patriots Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming 32. Philadelphia Eagles Derrius Guice, RB, LSU The second round before us went like this: 1 (33). Cleveland Browns Da'Ron Payne, DT, Alabama 2 (34). New York Giants James Daniels, C, Iowa 3 (35). Cleveland Browns from Houston Texans Arden Key, EDGE, LSU 4 (36). Indianapolis Colts Sony Michel, RB, Georgia 5 (37). Indianapolis Colts from New York Jets Ronnie Harrison, S, Alabama 6 (38). Tampa Bay Buccaneers Donte Jackson, CB, LSU 7 (39). Chicago Bears Isaiah Oliver, CB, Colorado 8 (40). Denver Broncos Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia 9 (41). Oakland Raiders Orlando Brown, T, Oklahoma 10 (42). Miami Dolphins Mason Rudolph, QB, OK State 11 (43). New England Patriots from San Francisco 49ers Kolton Miller, OT, UCLA 12 (44). Washington Redskins Harrison Phillips, DT, Stanford 13 (45). Green Bay Packers Christian Kirk, WR, Texas AM 14 (46). Cincinnati Bengals Billy Price, C/G, Ohio State 15 (47). Arizona Cardinals DJ Chark, WR, LSU 16 (48). Los Angeles Chargers Taven Bryan, DT, Florida 17 (49). Indianapolis Colts from Jets through Seahawks Michael Gallup, WR, Colorado State 18 (50). Dallas Cowboys Jamarco Jones, OL, Ohio State 19 (51). Detroit Lions Ronald Jones, RB, USC 20 (52). Baltimore Ravens Cedrick Wilson, WR, Boise State Here's where my lack of deeper knowledge in the draft may have hurt us. I think I probably should've gone BPA instead of need. But I picked: Josey Jewell, LB, Iowa What do you guys think? Ragnow, Penny, Mike Hughes and some decent Edge rushers were still available.... Anyway...I hope the Browns are this generous in real life! Edited April 2, 2018 by Domdab99 1 1
BadLandsMeanie Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 (edited) Good picks. You paid through the nose for the Rose, but it wasn't insane I won't fault it. Washington and Jewel are decent picks also but I think you reached on them. Still not bad except I think we need offensive linemen Edited April 2, 2018 by BadLandsMeanie
Seanbillsfan2206 Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 If our first pick is a CB, and we don’t draft a QB at all with our first 3 picks, I’m lighting something on fire.. 1

Bookie Man Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Cool mock! Interesting Josh Allen all the way to #31. That to me seems about where he should go. 1st/2nd. But could really see Washington, Arizona, LAC or Cincinnati grabbing him and letting him sit for a few years.
KRT88 Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 (edited) as soon as you have the top pick traded after the pick it became invalid. Only time that happened is when a guy refused to report and the top pick Manning, didn't want to play, but got pick anyhow and then they guy the Chargers wanted was picked at #4. Your mock would NEVER happen and especially for the price outlined. Plus exactly why is Arizona passing on Allen at 15? They have a broken knee guy at QB and Mike Glennon. They'd be picking the QB. NewEraBills Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 I would have taken Darius Leonard over Jewell, although it is close. 1
