PIZ Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Anyone know anything about this kid? 73% completion in 2017. 6' 3".
Buffalo Bills Detective Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 " In 2017, Allen completed 76 percent of his passes for 751 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions. He was a backup for the majority of the season and should not have entered the 2018 NFL Draft. Allen didn't participate in the combine."- Walter Football
#34fan Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I like Allen... Admittedly doesn't light up the stats at all... More than meets the eye IMO... Could make a serviceable backup.
LeGOATski Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Do the Bills have a pick in the 6th or 7th? If so, take a flyer on him. 2 QB draft.
jr1 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 he was a 5 star recruit coming out of HS with Scout and Rivals
whatdrought Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 The kind of story that looks good in the playoffs... For the most part, I am in the "can't have too many QB's with upside" camp.
MrEpsYtown Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 This is pretty mych Jeff Driskel. Big time recruit with less than stellar college career but huge upside if developed. Kevin Sumlin really jerked him around. Then he got benched in Houston for throwing interceptions. Had a pretty impressive game against Rice and was very good for A&M early. Certainly worth a late flyer.
1st&ten Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Hey, I'm all for getting 2 to 3 QB's on the practice squad---hoping for the diamond in the rough.

DCOrange Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 (edited) I'm not sure if he tweaked his mechanics after arriving at Houston because the film I've seen was all from his time at A&M, but I don't like his throwing motion at all and he looked terribly unimpressive at A&M. Obviously didn't fare much better in Houston since he got benched after only a couple of games. Certainly wouldn't touch him until late on Day 3, but in my mind, he's probably a UDFA level prospect. Edit: Just watched the video in the OP...still not a fan of that throwing motion. Seems really odd that he was the #1 QB recruit once upon a time with those mechanics; the way he throws looks like he was a baseball player that committed to football later on in high school. Tyrod's friend Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Well, either Kyle Allen or that other ex-Houston QB John O'Korn. They sure do build egos bigger in Texas.
