TakeYouToTasker Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 How sad it is to watch history air this rerun over, and over again. 1
DC Tom Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 It's the CIA's fault. Socialism only fails because the CIA actively undermines it. The left simply can't trust the intelligence community. 2 1

Nanker Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Never fear. The Clinton Foundation will be stepping in soon, most certainly. Handling this kind of disaster that it was created for. Remember how well it did in ?? Haiti.

LeviF Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Like every other failed (read: every other. full stop) Leftist idea, socialism is based on a principle of "give up some freedom for more security." To riff on Ben Franklin a bit, a man who gives up liberty for security deserves neither and is not a man.
row_33 Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Up here in Canada the Liberal government annually bails out the national TV, radio and huge print media in return for 100% ass-kissing by the CBC and Toronto Star and Globe and Mail. Socialism, even in its best forms, as in Canada, really sucks.

Venezuela was a healthy and established democracy, with and emerging economy, and was the wealthiest country in South America prior to it's socialist revolution. Now it's children fight with machetes for garbage.

What they claim as Middle class people - in their driveway there are 5 cars, 3 of which are lambo's. I've worked on practically every continent and I have worked outside of the big cities. I have seen the poverty.

Poverty exists on a wide scale because Peru has only recently (in the 1990's) thrown off their centrally planned economy. Since they have, it has been one of the most steadily growing economies in the world, with it's inhabitants standard of living considered "upper-middle" globally. Only 10% of their population lives in what the World Bank describes as extreme poverty. This is markedly different than what Venezuela is experiencing.
Wacka Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 But because of the Canadian content rule, we got the McKenze Brothers! 1
