The Patriots are always picking up guys like this to see if they can bring out the talent that lead him to be a day 2 draft pick. Sometimes, different schemes and environments help guys like this play better. If not, you let them go. 1
TigerJ Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Our loss is our Gaines? EJ didn't have great measurables, but could play a zone CB position pretty well. This Gaines has much better measurables and was more highly regarded coming out of college, not to mention the fact he's younger. If he can play, it's all good.

Heitz Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 One team's loss of Gains, is the same team's gain of Gains? Very confusing situation all-around...

Buddo Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 If he is visiting last week, does that make him a has been?

I know people say he sucks but the guy has size and speed. You cannot teach that NFL Draft Diamonds @DraftDiamonds 1m1 minute ago Phillip Gaines is a 6'1 corner, he weighs 193 pounds and the kid can fly. He ran a 4.38 forty at the Combine. Remember he was a 3rd round pick. He could be a very good late signing for the Bills 2

thebandit27 Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Hopefully he's a better scheme fit here than he was his last 2 seasons in KC Either way, it's another NFL body at a position where the team really lacks depth, so that's good
Freddie's Dead Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Filled the Gaines gap nicely. Now we need to start beefing up on Williamses. We had like 5-6 Williamses on the team not too long ago, we need to get more.

YoloinOhio Posted March 29, 2018 Author Posted March 29, 2018 Change of scenery and scheme can sometimes help, low risk high reward with his measurables 1
HappyDays Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 This is apparently what McBeane looks for in depth players. Great athletes with outstanding measurables who haven't been able to put it all together. 1
