K D Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 this bums me out. i thought we would bring him back on a cheap deal 3
ytownblofan Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Can't imagine we didn't at least match this offer... or give him a better one. Deonte might have just wanted to go elsewhere.
JohnBonhamRocks Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Would not have been against beating that money. Wonder how much he wanted to be back in Buffalo. Any Dallas ties?
RyanC883 Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 this sucks. He was our best WR last year, I think. Blocked, got contested balls, etc. Hopefully we draft a Chark now!

Deonte might have just wanted to go elsewhere. You really think he was worth 3.5 million in cap space when we have so little and so many needs. He was a good wr4-5 but not worth 3.5 Million when you have little cap to spend.

kickedface Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 well thats unfortunate. but what are you going to do?
H2o Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Anyone else find it strange that Thompson already has a deal and we haven't seen a single thing on Matthews anywhere? 1
Greatdane21 Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Cowboys had the?? to overpay him . Would have liked him back though.
YoloinOhio Posted March 22, 2018 Author Posted March 22, 2018 (edited) My guess is that both teams were offering a 1-yr deal and even if the Bills matched that or offered a bit more, he will be a FA again next year and there is simply more opportunity for him to get a bigger deal next year after playing in Dallas due to the difference in QB situations. I’ve said it over and over that the Bills will not be able to sign a decent WR in FA without a QB. Unless they massively overpay. No agent will recommend their client come to this offense at this point in time. That is why the KB trade was so critical and the Zay situation is so brutal. They will need to acquire this position through trade and draft until a QB who throws the ball is in place. Edited March 22, 2018 by YoloinOhio 2 1

TheBrownBear Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Consider that we picked him off the scrap heap in the middle of the season. I trust the Beane can find a comparable option for same price or cheaper.
