A trained eye should have known to give up in TT early last season.

Give up and do what?

They had 2 other quarterbacks on the team - Webb and Peterman.

They tried the second best guy for a game.   He embarrassed himself, the coaches and the Buffalo Bills organization with record setting bad play.

So, HOW do you suggest they would have given up in a better way?

Play (throw it to the other team)Peterman at QB the rest of the year and shoot for record number of interceptions in a season ever?

If we trade up and draft one of the top 3 QBs and he has a bad game, do we throw him under the bus?

Corrected........Under the Bust ;)

I remember 2 good QBs Eli Manning and Donavon McNabb looking like UDFA in their 1st starts. It's not how you start your career.

1 one was picked 1st overall, 1 was picked 2nd. That’s 170 picks ahead of Peterman. I would say that it’s fair to believe that they were more highly thought of prospects wouldn’t you?

Comparing Peterman to McNabb and Eli is laughable based on the disparity in talent.  It's nonsense.

Bad Game?   That's like saying 9-11 was an off day.

Peterman will get a chance to compete and show if he's improved in training camp.  There is no reason to cut him anytime before final cutdowns.

As long as he doesn't have to throw a sideline out he will be fine ;)

That's not the point. The point is we shouldn't rush to judgement on young QBs. Todd Collins, Rob Johnson, JP Losman, and EJ Manuel were all benched before starting a full 16 games. We are so fast to label QBs busts.

I think the bills should give me a fair shot. I might not get the job done the first week, but just you wait.

Again, not even the point.

There is no point when you try to hold out hope for him by comparing him to QBs who were 1st and 2nd overall picks in their respective draft classes.

You are missing the point then. Guys like Levi Brown, Brian Brohm, Jeff Tuel are the types of prospects that compare to Peterman. They were extreme long shots (outside of Brohm) that looked terrible. Those guys don’t get he same rope as the 1st overall pick!!!

I don't care at all about Peterman at this point. We could have this conversation about QBs we labeled franchise QBs.

It's the nature of the NFL.   The pressure on coaches to be decisive is immense.  They can get away with erroring on the side of caution.   They get fired sooner for erroring on the other side.

An example of that mentality is when Rex chose to punt late in the Miami game even though he knew it would very likely cost the Bills the season.  In Rex's case he got fired anyway - but his mentality was that of trying to save face.

I have watched this fan base bury QB's fast. If Josh Rosen plays like Jared Goff did his 1st year I doubt Rosen survives.
